i picked my cat up from a friend when he was 2 months old. we have been having problems with him for he likes to attack and bite my sister and me. escpecially around the leg, calf and ankle. we have sterilized him as we heard that it would help..it is difficult to use water sprays as he randomly bites any time..i have to carry the water spray wherever i go..
Also, he doesnt like to be carried or to be put on my lap. he never comes up to my lap on his own accord. why is this so?..it seems that other cats does it.

It's a sign, believe it or not, of affection. Think of it as a 'love-bite'. It's an invitation to play.

Not that that'll help much keeping your socks in one piece!

Might seem weird, but try this: As soon as he starts to stalk you, 'hiss' sharply enough to distract him (yelling won't have the same effect, hissing he understands), but then relax your voice and baby talk him. (That's how his momma would have handled it). Toss him a toy to chase after. One of the best toys, as voted by every kitty I've ever known, are the squiggly plastic thingies that seal the cap onto plastic milk containers. (Cheap & completely painless when you step on them in the middle of the night!)

As to being carried, etc.: some cats are like that. My Kokobutt was the single most affectionate, once-in-a-lifetime kinda pet, but he just didn't like to be carried.

Good luck!

Im not sure why he does this, I have 3 outside cats and I would recommend is the method that I use to disipline them. They next time your cat attacks your feet, spray him with some water from a squirt bottle. Or you can hold the scruff of his neck and pull back a little. Soon he should figure out what he is doing is wrong. Good Luck!!

why you are so disapointed.you have got a cat whith a character,or you have thought that it will be instead of a fluffy toy.I have 5 cats and each one has a diferent behavior and that is the reason to love them.If they were all similar i would prefer to have only one instead to clean behind all of them. But you should know that if your cat is young, between 6 mounths and 2 years that is the way it will be untill the second year when it will became more lasy and sleepy. My advise is to buy a lot of different cat toys,a scracher for its nails and you should find some more spear time to play whit it more, becouse when it is tire it won't do any trobules. Also if you give more delicious things for eating and at least at the time it eats it will be so pleased that it will do that special sound ,i don't know how you call it,that they do when are pleased

All cats are different. Some like to be held and cuddled, some do not, mine only likes it if he comes up on my lap, if I pick him up, he gets down right away. As to playing with your feet, when he starts that game, try distracting him with a piece of yarn or some other toy, that might help.

Every cat has there own personality, He likes the reaction he gets from you and your sister running and screaming, plus cats associate feet with the whole person, so he is playing with you,, he will grow up,, enjoy them while they are still playfull, and give him lots of attention. Try to not react when he bites your gummi toes, then he will have to find a new game. I love cats!

All cats do this, they see your feet in movement and they go into prey attack mode, just inmediately stop when he starts pick him up and place him somewhere else, don't play or keep on moving because he will keep on attacking eventually he will get the picture my kitty was the same.

I had a kitten who did this! LOL he was playing. He gave it up after awhile. I kind of missed it when he did.
