i use adblocker so all i see are red squares where ads should be. as far as spam email, take advantage of yahoo! disposable addresses and never give out your real email address online. make sure that your email address doesn't show in your yahoo! profile. i use gmail as my primary address, and a yahoo! disposable address for signing up for things. if you get spam email, do not try and opt-out of future mail. when you do that you are telling them that yours is an active address and it will only get worse.

Don't ever sign up for anything that says answer this survey and win a free----------? you never get to the end of the questions so you never can win the -------. It is a way they get your email so they can send you all the junk mail
