My two front teeth are quite weak because they took ages to come down after the baby teeth, which means they are kinda yellow at the bottom too (I'm gonna have them whitened when I'm 18 after I've had my braces taken off)
Only problem is I also have lots of small little chips on them as a result of the slight weakness (and I used to bite tops of bottles :P) So I have lots of little chips that make the teeth look uneven, I went to the dentist for a regular check about a year ago and told him and he started to "grind them down" only problem was he made them look WORSE and said that they looked fine now that there were two chips on them in the same place... LOL - I want teeth with no chips!

So I'm 15 right now and I'm kinda scared about what to do about these chips in my two front teeth because I don't want them to be grinded down so much that they are really short and stupid and I don't want them to be ruined completely by bad dentistry work! What should I do? (No websites plz)

Ouch, that's a tough one...

I see two options for you, from experience.

One, accept the chips in your teeth - they shouldn't impact you in anyway in life (unless they're sharp - in which case you need to be careful when giving head...).

The only other option is to get them ground down and replaced by fake teeth. I had to do that with one of my upper front teeth. It was so chipped that I had no option. It was either live with a terrible gap in my smile, or have it ground down and replaced.

It was painful, and when I remember, I have to be careful about what I eat (can't eat things that require pulling with that tooth - have to remember to pull with the other side).

But I've got a great smile again...

Wish you luck in what you decide. Its an uncomfortable decision.

Although some grinding may be nessary as part of the process, porcelain inlays are probably the solution. A good dentist will match the color of the porcelain to your teeth.
I had a couple teeth done years ago along my gum line were the soft part of the teeth had become exposed and was sensitive. They still look quite natural.
The product that is used can be made into any shape and can be used to correct all sorts of imperfections.
Good luck and I hope you find a skilled and consciencious dentist.

I don't think grinding them down is the answer, I think you should look into getting them filled with a porcelain filling. But then again, I've never seen them! You need to wait until you're older and find a really good dentist.

I personally find those little chips sexy. *growl*

*goes back to serious mode* I think you should have them filed down by a 'professional' dentist who will not screwed it up again.

No more biting on bottles young lady!
