-The cholesterol in your diet comes mainly from the saturated fats found in animal products. All foods from animals contain some cholesterol. Foods from plants do not contain cholesterol. Other sources of dietary cholesterol are full fat dairy foods, eggs and some seafood.
The best way to maintain healthy levels of cholesterol in your diet is to limit foods high in saturated fats. Try to avoid:
Fatty meats
Full fat dairy products
Processed meats like salami and sausages
Snack foods like chips
Most takeaway foods, especially deep fried foods
Cakes, biscuits and pastries.

-Avoid anything with a high animal fat content are high in cholesterol: Butter, Steak, Fried foods in Crisco. Good oils are Olive, Canola, Peanut.

HI

I have never heard of cholesterol at such a figure so can't help you on that one. Maybe you should check with your doctor again and also ask for a breakdown of the cholesterol into HDL/LDL.

Diet advice for reducing cholesterol is pretty hit and miss. there are a lot of myths around such as eating eggs raises cholesterol. This is a widely held misconception and in fact a recent study had people eating up to eight eggs a day without any impact on cholesterol levels.

There are lots of supplements you can take to help reduce cholesterol. Lepicol make a product called Lepid which is made from plant sterols which are said to be effective. Essential Fatty Acids (from cod liver oil, borage oil etc) are effective at reducing cholesterol.

I think the best course of actin for you would be to consult a well qualified and experienced nutritional therapist who could advise on an appropriate supplement prescription and work with you to get your diet on track with a low Glyceamic Load eating plan.

Hope this is helpful.

Yes, 350 is VERY high. Mine was high a year ago, but with drugs such as Simvastatin and a radical change of diet, I have brought it down to healthy levels.
I have porridge and a pro-biotic yoghurt drink every day for breakfast. It's delicious and warming as well as being healthy. Oats are the new superfood.
Cut out or down on all dairy products. Buy a butter substitute with low saturated fat levels, half fat cheese, semi-skimmed or skimmed milk.
Try out all the above but also remember, you are a long time dead.

Way too high. You have a 1.5X risk of heart disease above the normal population right there!

Get that cholesterol down. Watch your dietary intake and reduce the fat content of your diet.

Take the simvastatin. It's been around for a long time and is a reputable drug which is known to reduce heart disease, risk of strokes and some people are speculating it could have a preventing influence to stop you getting diabetes.

Lower salt intake, eat some plain Quaker oatmeal every day at some point, walk regularly for 30 minutes a day, portion control on everything....especially anything white and starchy, butter, salt and fats. Eat more fresh fruits and veggies. Good luck! This is what helped me get mine down!

In the Bible Leviticus 11 God gives instructions as to what animals are clean and unclean for man to eat.
Check out this website & it explains why pork & shrimp etc...are not good for your health. A team of doctors did a research on this.
All these foods are also high in cholesterol as well.
It is very interesting.

In my daughter's divorce, the judge made the husband pay all the bills including the car insurance till it was finally. I know you hate her for what she has done. It take two to make a marriage, or relationship and two to ruin it, you may not see it, now. Later when you calm down, you will. As, others have said with my daughter's case. Go on with your life, and don't hate, Carma is a B. If the judge doesn't have you paying it, it would be appropriate to let her know, by letter, or text. She needs to apply for other insurance, give her a deadline date that you will be cancelling the policy of her on it.

Are you sure? Cholesterol is normally between 2 and 5. At 350, your arteries must be solid fat!
