Yes I am glad. First of all, the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution guarantees that right. " A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." So lets look at that sentence.
First of all, look at the commas. A comma means that the order of segments are not pre-set. Any part of that statement with the exception of the last part can be transposed or even removed and it would still be a proper sentence. In other words, it could say, Being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, a well regulated Militia, shall not be infringed.
The only reason Militia is in there was to set up a duly recognized National Guard. Bear means carry. It makes no difference whether the arms are concealed or in the open. You still have the right to carry. Any Law abiding citizen that is going to carry a weapon should know that he or she should have knowledge of the operation and use of that weapon. If you are going to pull and aim a weapon, you should be ready to use it. Your life and the lives of others around you will depend on it.

Yes I am glad more people are becoming more responsible gun owners. About gun safety and kids, there is a program developed by the NRA that addresses that issue, unfortunately most school refuse to allow it to be used in their classrooms. The movie and gaming industries have pushed more and more violent entertainment to our kids and then the schools don't want to touch even a free program that could save lives.
Food for thought if you have a gun, a baseball bat, and a golf club, which a more deadly weapon? If you answer the gun your wrong. You first have to put a bullet in the gun. The old saying guns don't kill people, people kill people. Each one of these pieces of sporting equipment can be used as an effective weapon. Has anyone ever called for a study on how many people are killed each year by baseball bats, or golf cubs. Are there any moves to restrict their use or even require warning labels.

Hmm, that's sort of a loaded question.
On the one hand does that mean more guns in america? If so, I'm not glad about that.
On the other hand, does your question mean that existing gun owners are becoming trained, and therefore maybe they won't shoot their kids in the middle of the night thinking it's a burglar or leave it where a kid or drunk person or suicidal/homicidal person could get it, etc and so forth? Then yes, I'm glad.
