Hand her a note--which is rather ridiculous because writing a letter is even more intimate than saying hi. Just get some balls, say hi and ask her something impersonal like if she took down notes for the class, or make up something like, if she's in another class or organization because she looks familiar.

Something about you is catching her attention. She is probably shy like you seem to be. Why don't you "bump" into her and say excuse me, say aren't you in my social studies class? Or just get you guts up and walk over and talk to her about something that you both have in common.

You don't, not effectively, and how can you like her if you haven't even talked to her??? Attraction is not 'like' it is attraction. So, all that said (and you are such a sweeite for wondering!) go say hi. It will impress her that you have the courage.
