e.g dispute between clients in the lounge. how could you avoid this happening again? how would you get urgent help?

It depends on the situation. Sometimes it's better to not get involved. If it is a "lounge" as you say - thats a bit vague, but I'd suggest hiring some security staff so that things can be quelled rather quickly. It is not your job to be a bouncer! A few soothing words is all you should put in there, don't put your safety on the line because two people have a disagreement. Good luck.

have a support system in place be it friends co-workers other clients or police officers. Then approch with calm soothing voice tones use empathy. do not come off as a threat to purputraiters.
ask them to leave or settle dispute outside the primoues

I would walk away & phone police thats if situation was out of hand.
