how come lortab has been such a hot drug to sell in school?

Question

two of my cousins have been caught selling controlled substances such as ambien and lortab. My first cousin was in his 5yr of pharmacy college and was caught in his dorm room with it. And my second cousin sold it to his friends on highschool property. What is the point, is it really worth a felony?
