If it is a non affectionate context, as , for instance, approving a joke or something one has done, the French would simply say "Excellent!", "Genial" or "Formidable!".
"J'aime cela" is OK as well but more formal. "Je l'aime" or "Je l'adore" would not be suitable in that sort of context.

If you mean an affection for a pet or an object "Je l'aime beaucoup".
