I have 2 cats & the one is fine but the other one has started sneezing a lot, do they get normal colds that they shake off in a few days or should I take him to the vets?

Is there anything I can get for him to help?

Thanks,
worto.

Yes, he needs to go to a vet. I recently adopted a cat and he developed terrible sneezing, a runny nose and watery eyes. We took him to the vet and the vet stated that he has an upper respiratory infection that fortunately had not made it to his lungs yet. But had we waited he would have been much sicker. It is better to be safe than sorry.

take him to the vet, ask the vet about feline herpes it sounds like some of the symptoms. I have 2 cats that have it. you might want to go to walmart and get some l-lysine and give your cat 500-1000mg a day of that. you can also give 12.5mg of benadryl twice a day to help with the symptoms. ask your vet for azythromicin (sp?) as an antibiotic. that does a really good job.

A lot of vets don't know much about feline herpes so you may have to do some resarch yourself. Feline herpes is not curable but it is very treatable.

Yes take him to the vets asap. Cats sometimes pick up cat flu which is very serious. Sorry to sound alrming but it happened once to my cat but luckily she was treated in time. Better to be safe than sorry.

I know cats can become very sick in a very short time, even die, I would take your cat to the vet as soon as possible

Please take the cat to the vet. If you do not have a regular one, try Banfield. Link will take you a site with a locator.
