I have read similar internet stories and remember contacting Target and asking them point-blank about something similar to this. The upshot is that whenever I try to verify a story like this it always comes up as a fake with no truth to it at all. I have done this two or three times with different stories that came to me in forwarded emails and in every single case they were totally bogus, to the point now where if I read anything like this my first reaction to it is that it is a piece of internet fraud.
You may want to send the specifics of this story to the corporate headquarters or public relations department of Target and ask for an explanation. From what I have seen in the past these kind of things are always fiction.
Television used to be called 'the vast wasteland'. Now I think that term applies equally to the internet. There is so much junk and garbage floating around that most of what you get online is pure fraud and scams. Never take anything that comes to you as a sensational story at face value. It is most likely totally made up.

I've heard the same type of things about Target over and over, and every time I look into it, it really does turn out to be untrue. Military members in uniform are NOT supposed to be entering public buildings at all - it's against regulations for them. My husband was in the Marine Corps for nine years, and he couldn't even stop on the way home for bread without changing clothes first. The only exceptions to that are military affiliated credit unions and being in dress uniform. Utility uniforms are not acceptable at all. The only thing that I'm aware of that Target doesn't support the military in is that they don't allow Toys for Tots to set up in their stores, and frankly, around here, where every place I go has a Toys for Tots box and their requests are getting more specific (and outrageous) every year (new bikes this year, for example), and the qualifications for receiving the toys are getting more and more outlandish, I don't really have a problem with that. I'd much rather adopt a family anyway.

Not sure about the uniform thing but I do know first had that target would not let the Marines set up the Toys for Tots trucks at their stores. This is a french owned company and we all know what they think about supporting wars. I have never been or will I go to target. It would be a cold day in hell before they get any of my money that I earn as a Veteran.

I did hear that someone sent out an email starting a story like this. The Target where I lived at was pretty nice.
That is against the law if that happened. If they really did that they could get into trouble. I am in the military and all these liberal whinners on Y/A make me sick. To those of you who disrespect the military, I hope the next our country gets attacked its you thats there to witness it. Thank you for your support and your husband for his service. When I was home on leave I had to take care of some business I was in uniform and got nothing but compliments and kind words. I have heard stories of fellow military members getting treated like crap and that pisses me off. Like people spitting on people in uniform at the airport. I know people who have had that happen to them. Grr, I'm too pissed off from the liberal bull on here to clearly respond.

This is the silliest thing I have ever heard. Target does not care who spends their money there. How would they see your ID? Are they checking IDs to make sure you aren't military? I don't think so. Sometimes other stores want to tarnish the credibility of other stores, especially during times like this.

I would check the source carefully.
Stores are not allowed to profile in this way to exclude 'groups' and I'm sure the real Target know this. I doubt if it is true. Let good sense prevail.

You're wrong. Tthat's an urban legend. Target is a great company. You're a little too gullible. Check your facts first.
