Transport:
If possible, walk to work, cycle to work or (if economically viable) take public transport. The bicycle is THE-MOST efficient machine in terms of energy input to distance travelled. Even the most energy efficient car uses orders-of-magnitude more energy per mile travelled. (although this ultimately depends upon how much energy has been used to produce the food you eat, think that through).

Don't get a new car every year.
The energy cost of producing a new car is ASTRONOMICAL.
Stick to your car's service schedule to maintain its fuel economy. Find out the most economical usage profile for your car. Generally, keeping the engine in its most efficient rev range will give you the best fuel economy. Switch the engine off if you know you'r going to be waiting more than a couple of minutes, eg at a level crossing.

Domestic:
PROPERLY INSULATE YOUR HOME!
It will then take less energy to keep your home at a comfortable temperature. In winter, less heating energy is required. In summer, less air-conditioning energy is requried.
Every other domestic energy saving measure pales almost into insignificance against heating / cooling energy.

Next: Get energy efficient appliances. Particularly the fridge, (it's on all the time).

Next: Energy efficient lighting. If you leave a light on all the time, (eg a porch light), it definitely makes sense to use an energy saving bulb here. Consider solid state lighting where the light is only used periodically (eg a toilet) because high pressure sodium energy efficient bulbs (the glass sort) take a little while to reach maximum efficiency.

Next: Don't leave entertainment equipment on standby. Switch it off at the wall. Typically a TV, HiFi, Digibox, VCR will use upwards of 5Watts on standby. This really adds up if it's on 24/7. Similarly, don't leave gadget chargers plugged in and switched on, switch off at the wall if they're not charging something. These chargers draw power even if they're not charging, again this adds up 24/7.

Waste:
Recycle your glass, metal, paper and plastic
It takes much more energy to make "virgin" glass from silicon than it does from previously vitrified silicon (recycled glass). This is true for metal production from ore too.

Water:
Use less water then less water has to be pumped from wells or resevoirs, thus saving energy.

I hope you find this useful.
Cheers.

I answered this question for Leonadro DiCaprio:

Well, I am completely on your side. Because I am a person who really cares and wants to do something about this factor causing global warming. People don't realize that global warming is a real thing! they need to get off their butts and pitch in and save us and the world. Earth is counting on us. This year for Christmas i have driven to the close by Walmart and I am purchased enviorment friendly light bulbs that were on 74 cents. Which is am unbelievable price. Considering that i get the regular ones for about 2 bucks. I have purchased 10 light bulbs for each person who is coming for Christmas at my house this year. I have called them and ask they what they usually use around their house such as spray cans, the ones that spray with aerosol, Hairspray with aerosol, and other stuff. So i headed out to the mall and hardware stores and I have purchased the things they usaly use, but ones that are good for the enviorment.

At my house. My family likes to turn down the heat at only 55 degrees. (I am in MA) We have a pellet stove wich keeps the house nice and warm over the very warm winter. We have also cut down on trips and trips to the mall. So we can save money and have time to our selves then spending a billion dollars. Also in my house the electric bills have gone up almost 50.00 so we have desided that we wouldn't have the Christmas tree lights and house lights on when no one is really coming by our house and only put it in while the christmas vaction was happening.

I have noticed that over the last few years and talking to my parents about this that they said that when they and when I was a kid That it would be snowing in the first week of November and ponds and lakes would be frozen and waiting for pedestiants to skate on them. This year its already December and the tempeture is in teh 50s. Isn't that just simply amazing but very bad? Anyway it has only snowed about 1 time. It snowed about 3 days ago. we thought it was going to be a bad storm with the winds and everything. So we thought it was snowing all day but it was just winds blowing 1/2 of snow everywhere. It melted 3 hours after.

This is a real thing that is happeing to the world and we all need to do one thing to help save not only oursleves but our home planet, earth.

Dont turn up the heater so high. Why? Because you could wear some clothes instead of walking around the house naked.

Turn off the lights if you arent in the room. Why? Because the ghosts don't need lights anyway

Walk to that grocery store 2 blocks down the road. Why? because you need some excercise.

Dont use the dishwasher. Why? Because you can practice washing dishes by hand, who knows it might come in handy when you forget your wallet at a restaurant!

Change bulbs to energy saving bulbs (last longer and use less electricity)

Don't Use standby (TV's etc on standby waste more energy on standby than when they are on and running)

Switch everything off if your not using it (speaks for its self)

If you wanna keep the heating on constant, set the central thermostat to a lower temperature (means its not using extra energy to heat up originally)

Loft insulation and draughtproofing (stops energy being wasted through your roof, doors and windows
