When I miss a meal, I am usually okay, but if I don't eat within six hours I get headaches. Usually, it seems they are sinus headaches, or at least that is where I feel the pain. I am pretty sure that is not normal. Could that be a sign of Hypoglycemia? Is there a way to find out for myself if I am hypoglycemic? There is a history of diabetes in my family but I have never been diagnosed with it. I ate a lot of sugar as a child, but no so much anymore because I don't want it piling up on my midsection.

My diet is actually surpisingly healthy. Fast Food is almost non-existant, I drink a great deal of water, have at least one serving of vegetables at every meal, and have limited consumption of soda and sugar. No smoking, and almost non-existant drinking. I have noticed that I do eat too much fat, and I am trying to change that.

well the reason is you ate too much sugar as a kid and your liver is not used to storing too much because your body had a continous supply of sugar and the problem is your brain can only use glucose and ketones so when you don't take food the body proteins starts to break down and be used as a food for the brain and since not enough is used as body protein deficiency is much worse that hunger your brain doesn't work as good as when you take meals and that is why you feel sick.

Another thing to consider is the diet you have when you do in fact eat. Diets of poor nutritional value won't do you any good, so you body still may be missing out on nutrients it needs, and the headaches are a symptom. you should consider eating smaller meals, more often. Your body can digest much better that way anyways. New studies are showing that smaller, more frequent meals are the way to go.

Try to stay away from processed foods and foods with a lot of additives. There are 1,400 ingredients that the FDA does not require to be listed on the ingredients label, all of which have known health problems associated with them.

Some of these ingredients cause things such as headaches, so that the only way that you can get relief is by continuing to eat the food.

There's a book that everyone on this Earth should read called "Secrets That "they" Don't Want You To Know About" by Kevin Trudeau. It is easy reading and is very interesting and a big eye opener. It also has a huge list of diseases and health conditions with their known food related causes, as well as the foods that can help cure them. I really have started to believe that 90% of health problems are diet related, because of how we eat and how it accumulates over time. This book actually has some stories about people who made changes in their diets, and their diabetes was no longer an issue for them.

P.S. Avoid any prescription drugs... that's a whole other story. And you can make a change in your diet and still get the same effect as most of those drugs, minus the side effects and worsening of problems.

Excedrin Migraine pills are my friends, try those.or just keep rice cakes with you ,if you are on the road or at work and snack on those.
If your boss bitches about it,just tell him it is a medical thing, and if you don't like it he can lump it.
Dairy products give me headaches for some reason ,including eggs, but I try to balance out what I eat to offset certain foods that give you headaches.
I also take centrum vitamins,my headaches have been fewer and less severe since taking vitamins everyday.
