I wanted to get my upper ears pierced but I have an ear infection (the inside of my left ear) and just wanted to know if it was okay for me to do it.

Absolutely not! Especially if you're considering a cartilage piercing.

Your body is already fighting off an infection which means your immune system is already weakened and compromised. Piercings are a breeding ground for infection under the best of circumstances as you're allowing a direct route for bacteria and other antagonists to enter. Cartilage piercings can pose a more serious threat, allowing infection into your bone structure.

Wait until you're healthy. Piercing isn't going away. It'll be there when you're feeling good and you'll heal much faster when your body can concentrate on one thing at a time.

You possibly have an infection called Otitus Medius but this needs to be diagnosed by your Physician. The question I have for you is why would you want to run the risk of spreading the infection and really risking your health. A friend of mine had what he thought was a simple pimple on his nose and squeezed it. The infection ended up spreading into his sinus cavity and making his whole face balloon into a horrible size. He had to be hospitalized for 2 days. There are millions of women that do not have their ears pierced who look quite beautiful and no matter what is compelling you to get your ears pierced, if it being done by a true professional as opposed to by one of your friends, the second you tell them the truth, that you have an infection, they will tell you what I am about to say, "See a doctor, get your infection taken care of and when the doctor says it is OK, then come and get your ears pierced". I know this is not what you want to hear but I implore you please see a doctor first.

Better let the infection subside first. Your vanity can wait.
