Well that depends on what the quarrel was about. There are time when yes you do need to support your wife. But in other cases the spouse can be the one in the wrong. The best thing you need to do is think things through and try to understand your spouses reasons for the quarrel and if you need to support her then you should. She is your wife. But if you can find a way to help both of them to settle the problem then you should. Maybe get both sides of the story first hand and then make your decision on what needs to be done to settle the problem so their all talking again.

There's no reason for you to take a side other than I'm sure your spouse wants the support.

They're all suppose to be adults. If you haven't already, sit down with your spouse and get her feelings on the matter. Let her know how you feel. Don't let their quarrel become yours!

Good luck! I don't envy you your position!

stay neutral. let both sides of the situation know that you are neutral, and make sure you stay that way. If you hear comments from either side, just say "hey, i don't want anything to do with this". i've seen my parents do this often, they might get into a small argument at first, but then in the middle of their argument, they'd be like "why are we even arguing? this has nothing to directly do with us" and then they'd laugh it off.

Play the go-between to bring them back together, but for your own immediate well-being it is important that your wife thinks you are generally on her side if you want her support in future.

Go sit on the couch. I would, I wouldn't even get
into it. That's what I would say to.
" I'm not getting into it. Enough said".
