In one instance they claim that they only teach the word of God but never force it onto anyone and in the same breath they would seek to have school prayer, the Ten Commandments placed in every public square, a required spoken "Merry Christmas" from everyone regardless of religious differences, and a ban on gay marriage because it is not biblical.

Now tell me, how is that not forcing a view?

I'm Christian and I am gay.I feel the Ten Commandments are good to follow but don't go out of my way to put them anywhere. Now if they were placed somewhere a long time ago then I feel that we should not remove them because over time it has become a part of history.Muslims don't go around removing the great pyramids of Egypt even though they were built and dedicated to Egyptian gods.As far as school prayer, to each his/her own.Why take away the right of some to benefit the will of others?Nobody is asking to force prayer on anyone. And as a gay man I am constantly fighting for gay marriage rights.I have to disagree with you on this issue. Not all Christians are right wingers who use politics to make religion the focus of life and law.I share but never force. As was Christ' own message.

Oh, and Merry Christmas!
I say that because I want to not because I have to.

1. No one would be FORCED to pray in school; they would just be ALLOWED to.

2. No one would be FORCED to read or agree with the Ten Commandments placed in CERTAIN public squares--though far from ALL of them; they would simply be placed there as historic monuments.

3. No one would be REQUIRED to say "Merry Christmas"; they would simply not be required NOT to!

4. It is obvious to anyone who is honest with him/herself that homosexuality is, at the very least, UNNATURAL--whether or not they respect the fact that it is unbiblical! It is equally obvious that if homosexual marriage were taken to its logical conclusion (e.g., if everyone were to engage in it), the human race would soon become extinct. Yes, we also believe homosexuality to be MORALLY WRONG and marriage to be a sacred institution, but we make no apologies for that!

In a democracy every person is allowed to openly debate, discuss, and promote their ideas. Except of course the Christian?! This is considered condescending(?)

Christians, for certain have an advantage in the public debate of ideas because Jesus Christ is the Son of God. God holds the ultimate Truth. I understand why this can be frustrating to others who have yet to receive the Grace to understand Truth.

However, Christ and His followers convert others through honest, open discussion and not by force like the radical left in America. They ban, censor, and impose their will by judicial fiat, knowing full well that public opinion is against their ideas. It is a classic form of brainwashing and imperialism. The Radical Left are the preachers of hate and division because their ideas are shallow and vain.

My opinion. Merry Christmas. God Bless.

1) School prayer is not compulsory, simply resepect the majority and silently pray to your own god or think of something else.

2) We were founded on Judeo/Christians principals and we should be grateful and proud of this.

3) No one has ever been required to say "Merry Christmas" so say 'happy holiday', go to hell or whatever suits you.

4) It is inappropriate for us to judge gay marriage since we don't know the origin of this preference.

I am a Christian and the only thing I find grosslly offensive is abortion - because I searched 'abortion images on Yahoo.com"

You are asking a question whinch you are basing on false assumptions.

Please tell me why you have a problem with the Ten Commandments. And what is so wrong about saying "Merry Christmas"?

If you don't like the Ten Commandments then don't read them or practice them.

If you don't want to say "Merry Christmas" then don't. The 1st Amendment is still in the Constitution of the USA.

... and yet there seems to be A COMPLETE ABSENCE OF CONCERN about the environment... deliberate price gouging from fuel and power companies, ...or creating a greater divide between the rich and poor ???

Are these not exactly issues that should be everyday concerns to those who claim to want what is best for our fellow man???
