No. It's what you do while you're awake that affects your weight. If you eat well and get enough exercise you should be fine. A lot of people who take medication/supplements along with a diet tend to be a little lax with what they eat because they think the tablet will make up for any slip-ups. Wrong.
A two hour nap every day is a little excessive. Do you really need it?

Our daughter is 8 months old & still takes frequent naps - typically 2 naps in the morning & 1 or 2 in the afternoon depending on how long each nap lasts for. Generally speaking she normally stays up for about 2 1/2 - 3 hrs before needing another nap.

I don´t think so. In Spain most everone takes a nap in the middle of the day. And for the most part Spainiards are in pretty good shape. Just when you wake up do some exercises that make you sweat. Sweating is like cooking bacon just burning all the fat out of you. I´m not really fat but I want to lose the little I have so I´m running twice a day with lots of cloths on to sweat more. I´ve noticed a change after 1 week.

Why are you taking a 2 hour nap at age 23??? You should be actively doing something. Exercise is the important factor in weight loss, and taking a nap after eating will insure your body gets everything it needs and then some. The digestion slows down when sleeping and allows much greater absorption of nutrients.

No, I seriously doubt it.
If you feel the need to sleep, and you can, do so.
Do you get enough sleep at night?
It might be worth splitting your lunch and eating half then and the other half a few hours later so have less food to deal with at one time.
After eating your parasympathetic nervous system is triggered to aid the digestion of food. Your body diverts resources toward hormone production and digestion. Being relaxed makes the process more efficient.
Taking a nap in the afternoon is even considered to be beneficial. A lot of large companies in big cities have facilities for "power naps" which tend to be for about 20minutes or so.

napping should not hurt your attempt to lose weight unless you go to sleep after eating a big meal that is high in fat. if your body needs the sleep, take your nap!If going without your nap makes you irritable and tired, you're more likely to make bad dietary choices. sleeping does slow your metabolism down though, so after you wake up, you shoud do 10-15 minutes of moderate exercise to get your metabolism up to speed again. ps. some people think that sleeping is a great way to lose weight, because when you're asleep you don't eat anything!
