Hey Tech,

The first search string below brings up a bunch of sites on the Louisiana Lemonine Family. The second URL is also a YAHOO SEARCH string with many sites on GENFORUM. These are great places to discuss family history with specific surname interest.

There is a posted Ancestral file in the FAMILY Search site for A. Lemoine, 1876 Avoyelles, La., Albert, Adeline, - too many to list, you need to go there! They may have a CD you can buy too. The one branch of MANY, that I looked at goes back to 1670 at a glance. You have Valuable information there. Try to figure how to navigate the site, if you have difficulty, let me know.

Good luck! I'm a distant cousin of sorts if you want to think of it that way. The Lemoine family first started around the same time as my ancestors, the Ledets came down from Nova Scotia though the Lemoines could have come straight from France. Since when the hughonots were expelled they were forced from France and Nova Scoita at the same time, some records have them on the Amstaid ship called L'Amstaide.
There is a problem though.. many family branches are intertwined with cousins and second cousins marring so I wish you good luck. Try searching for your ancestor's name at here:

www.rootsweb.com
www.familysearch.org

This should pull up some feilds and from there you will get help. Happy searching!
