Why is 1500 bc significant?
1500 AD is, because that was the time of the advent of Catholicism, which changed the nature of religion as a whole. But either way, the people who believed in that God were either Jew or Gentile before that century.
There has always been religion as long as there have been humans, in some form or another. It is in our nature to attempt to make sense of spiritual elements. Hinduism is the oldest form of organized religion, and yes, it did exist at 1500 bc.

But to answer your question. There is only one god and the one god existed in 1500 B.C. and 1500 years before that.

I'm sure there were several different ones by that time:
The Hebrews had Orthodox Judaism and the Brotherhood of Essenes; the Egyptians had their Coptic church; Shamanism was alive and well; same thing with Hinduism in India; Babylon was under the Code of Hammurabi; and of course the Greeks and the Romans had their sets of gods and goddesses...

most of the oriental ones,Tao, dao, etc, hinduism, and judaism, along with various pagan ones; druids, Egyptian worshiped their gods, Roman worshiped their gods, Greeks worshiped theirs, etc.
