My dog woke me up at about 345 this morning, shaking, and pacing around my bed.He doesn't ever wake me up in the middle of the night, so it kind of freaked me out. Once I got out of bed he got up and vomited on the floor. It was yellow and foamy (bile?). He didn't eat his dinner last night so I'm wondering if he's got an upset stomach from not eating...any suggestions? He's a 2.5 yr old male, belguim shepard/border collie mix.

Some dogs get more acid in their tummies than others. The "yellow urka-gurkas" are a result of this. It is possible he had an upset tummy from not eating his dinner.

Try giving him a dog cookie before bed. If he keeps vomiting in the middle of the night, take him to the vet.

Could just be the excess acid barfs. If nothing other than yellow foamy stuff came up, it could be an overly empty tummy due to not eating his dinner.

But he may not have eaten his dinner due to a tummy ache. If he continues puking, take him in to the vet. Otherwise, trying being sure he eats something, even just a dog biscuit before bedtime to avoid those yellow pukes.

The vet would be a pretty sensible option. Also if the dog eats leftovers could be an upset stomach from something he ate. Then you would just let it pass. Otherwise the vet.

Maybe you skould just call the vet for starters? Its difficult for non 'vets' to give good advice regarding sick animals, because we just dont have that same insight. I would never hessitate to call or visit the vet regarding my 2 doggys, i love them alot and dont want to risk them in any way! So do the obvious yeah?!

my chihuaua does that when she's eaten something she shouldn't have. i follow my grandmother's instructions and give her a LITTLE pepto bismol and she's as good as new. i don't know what some people might think of that, but it works and it saves a vet bill. her poodle is thirteen yrs. old and she's done that to him all his life. so it can't be harmful.

dogs like cats get hair in their stomache from licking and they need grass to held and that makes them do that, and there are other reasons but if you take him out side he will feel better.if there was no blood, don't worry, and if it contenue take him to the vet
