World players support shady regimes because of power and economic issues. The list of despots we've supported or democratic movements that we've extinguished in the name of capitalism and freedom is pretty long too. Don't get me wrong, doesn't bother me at all, if we weren't doing it someone else would and if those little exploited countries had the upperhand and the US was the little guy they would be doing the same thing.

Because China is a Communist country. The government of China has killed between 35 and 48 million of their own people. Why wouldn't the support oppressive regimes.
They fit right in as a permanent member of the United Nations.
Get the US out of the UN.

If it was only China who did it the world would be a much better place. The US supports oppressive regimes around the world, which we then go to war against, not in every case...but we sure did help Al-qaeda fight the Russians and we helped Sadaam out many a-times...My favorite pic is of good old Donald Rumsfeld shaking hand w/ Sadaam back in the 80's...probably after agreeing to sell him WMDs or at least weapons. Lovely, isn't it?

China does not support these regimes but they have economic ties and one way or another they gained something...

They support economic gaines for themselves. China is not the best example of human rights, but they are greedy like the rest of us.

not necessarily, China seems to stay neutral on many issues but in no way does China support Kim Jong Il and he North Korean regime.

they do the same in their nation an comunists do get along great. their economic ties are deep too.
