I am sickened by the way people rationalize an abortion. The baby is real. It's not a parasite. It depends on the mother just as much as a born baby does! Without constant nourishment and changing, bathing, dressing, the baby would die, as well as a baby inside the whom would die without food and water. It's not a matter of the mother's rights. She gave those away the moment she had unprotected sex. Pregnancy and a child are simply a consequence to a poor choice. To kill a child is a way to force a consequence away, which is completely and entirely wrong and against nature. Just like murder is wrong. You can't just go killing people when you don't want them around anymore.
If you all watched an abortion it would just kill you!! You're all sick and senseless and desensitized people!

It is a natural consequence to something natural that has happened. I was raped and pregnant and was planning in giving up the baby for an adoption but ended up miscarrying it. It's not the concieved child's fault.
Why would a mother want to kill her own child, whether forced onto her or not? Even in cases of incest, the child can still turn out just fine and should just be given up for adoption!
I have many friends who want their own kids and can't have them and would adopt any baby!

And does a tire turn into a car?

Does a parasite turn into a human?

Come on, give me better reasons than this!!

Oh, and it's sad when a mother doens't care for her child, and typically a woman who wants their baby to live is not going to neglect it afterwards. It's almost always the mother who DIDN'T want their kid and couldn't afford an abortion who neglects their child! In both cases, they're wicked, selfish and evil women.

Whether something is made legal or not does not make it RIGHT or WRONG. what is right and what is wrong will always be the same, just man decides what they want it to be depending on the people.

In other countries abortion is wrong, here it is not, except by a few of us.

Laws won't change anything, except incriminate the wicked, which is exactly what we want to do!!

I agree with your opinion, but I think if you want to engage people in a rational debate you should not be so venomous in your writing.

Abortion is murder, plain and simple. People have been convinced that a fertilized egg is not alive, but they have been lied to. They have bought into this lie hook, line, and sinker, because they desperately want to be able to commit sin without the consequences.

If you're going to debate someone about abortion, why not use a less "in your face" approach, like this:

You remember that cute little martian rover that rolled around on the surface of Mars and picked up all those cool rocks and sent us back pictures?
What would have the newspapers read the next day if that martian rover had picked up a rock and low and behold, imbedded in the rock was the 2 million year old remnants of a single-celled organism?
LIFE FOUND ON MARS!!

And yet, an organism that can has a heartbeat at 6 weeks, unique brainwave patterns (unique like a fingerprint) at 8 weeks, an organism that can SMILE at 12 weeks isn't considered life? I don't buy it, and you shouldn't either.

the spiritual condition of man is at the root of the abortion issue. Until man's spiritual condition is changed by the power of Jesus Christ, we will not find a full solution to this problem. It is sin that produces the problem of most unwanted pregnancies, as well as all the other disorders which plague the human race. It is also sin which produces the misbelief that women have a "right" to take the lives of unborn babies. The apostle Paul writes, "The acts of the sinful nature are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like" (Galatians 5:19-21a).

Life is sacred, and we must seek to protect all human life: the unborn, the child, the adult, and the aged. Several Bible passages tell of the sacredness of life and speak to the subject of abortion. They include Exodus 20:13, 21:22, 23:7; Job 10:8-12; Psalms 22:10, 51:5, 127:3, 139:13-16; Isaiah 44:1-2, 49:5; and Jeremiah 1:4-5. From a medical point of view, in the words of a physician, "The ultimate scientific fact that all must face and deal with is that nothing, no bits and pieces, will be added to this living human being from the time of fertilization until the old man dies—nothing except nutrition. Each of us existed in toto at that moment. All that we have done since then is to mature."

Since the Supreme Court removed restrictions on abortion in 1973 abortions have risen to an incredible figure of over 1.5 million each year in the United States. Mr. Graham strongly opposes "abortion on demand" and was instrumental in the founding of the ministry of Care Net, which is the largest evangelical network of crisis pregnancy centers. Care Net seeks to provide the most accessible and effective abortion alternatives possible. For a discussion on the alternatives to an unwanted pregnancy, you may contact Care Net at 1-800-395-HELP. While I personally am against abortion, I am still pro-choice.
It's not all about selfish, desensitized, promiscuous people hon. Grow up.
Some people get raped. Sometimes a doctor finds a serious deformity or genetic disorder that would cause the child to have a life of misery and agony.
And what about the medical need? I had an ectopic pregancy, which I had to terminate or I WOULD HAVE DIED. As much as I didn't want to do it, I had to be sedated to take the injection that ended my pregnancy-even if I would not have terminated it, it would have never been a viable pregnancy because a fetus cannot grow or thrive in the fallopian tubes.
Abortions are illegal past the first trimester for a reason. WHile I agree that it is wrong to do something like that just to avoid the burden of an unwanted child, it is NOT the same thing as murdering someone. A fetus doesn't even have a heartbeat until about 6-8 weeks-it's just a cluster of cells. Not a person with feelings, memories, emotional attachment, etc.
There are many injustices in this world. How about instead of trying to make people feel bad or immoral for the choice they had to make, why don't you be proactive? How about foster or adopt one of the hundreds of thousands of children who are starving and miserable, and will probably die sick, in pain, and feeling unloved and unwanted their entire lives......atleast they weren't aborted, though, huh?

>>"She gave those away the moment she had unprotected sex."<<

what if they took more than reasonable preventative measures and they all failed?
what if she was raped, or otherwise abused and did not CHOSE to have sex?

its not a child until its born.

and its not against nature. there are natural things that can be had, like teas, that will force mensturation in the first couple months, there is even a provision that allows a man to conspire with another man, to have his pregnant wife beaten such that she loses the child, and the husband be able to entirely pardon the person who beat her! (as long as the wife survives and recovers completely) that particular spot is written such to CLEARLY be a legalization of abortion of a sort even in bibical times. being able to deliberately "abort" a pregnancy is *NOTHING* new. its just safer now.

its a matter of defining what a "person" is. a person who has had their brain destroyed in one form or another, is not a "person" and has no "rights" as a person, even if they are being kept alive by machines, or have just barely enough brain stem left to keep their lungs breathing and heart pumping.

I am NOT saying that abortions are good things. they should be avoided when possible. but they are NOT wholely horrible or bad or terrible in all circumstances. in some situations they are the lesser of two evils by a large margin.

To tell you the truth, I'm not comfortable with it, and if it came down to it I wouldn't have one.

That aside, people will have them. People always have, and people always will. (And if you don't believe people have always had them, check out the references made to it in the novel Moll Flanders by Daniel Defoe, written in 1722.) And if someone is going to have one, I'd rather it be in a safe, clean, legal environment than with drug overdoses or coat hangers.

Which may be the thing I least understand about those wanting to make abortion illegal: It won't stop it. It will just make it more likely that two people will die rather than one.

ETA:

"Laws won't change anything, except incriminate the wicked, which is exactly what we want to do!!"

I take this to mean that it's OK with you if a woman attempts to perform an abortion on herself and dies in the process. I'd love to know how that is any better than an abortion in your eyes. How, exactly, is that justified?

For it. People always say adoption is an option. But there are too many unwanted kids in adoption agencies already and get mistreated by foster parents. (being adopted myself I can have a good say in this. I was lucky and was adopted into a wealthy and stable family. But I am aware of how badly it could have turned out for me. I was born with a major heart problem which left me with lots of medical bils and a huge scar for the rest of my life. I was sick and the doc.s said I could die, but I was adopted anyways. I am very very lucky)

It's better for the kid to not be born than to live a horrible life with a mother that is too poor, too immature and too young. It's not like they'll know what they are missing.

Women don't always get pregnant from not using protection. Not a single birth control method is 100% (except abstinance)

Example- you have a rich uncle who died and left you 5million dollars in stocks. You don't even know he exists. His lawyers mess up paperwork and the money is lost. They decide to just not tell you at all. Aren't you better off?

I have watched an abortion being preformed. I have seen images and photos of the aftermath of an abortion. I have BEEN to an abortion (Moral support).

One of my deepest, dearest friends was raped and beaten. She found out she was pregnant. It wasn't her choice to get pregnant in the first place, so she had an abortion. I fully respect her decision and I supported her 10000000%. I myself would have on e if I was placed in that position.

It is the woman's decision.

Would you feel the same if the woman's very life was in danger?

Try knowing someone who was raped and forcefully impregnated. Maybe you'll change your tune. Maybe you won't.

There is no right or wrong answer to abortion. It all comes down to personal feeling and religious brainwashing.

You have no right to tell me it's wrong, just like I have no right to tell you it's right. There is no answer. There is no correct choice. It's all one woman's choice to do what she feels is right, and that isn't anything anyone else can decide.

If Abortions are found to be illegal, you do realize that this *will not* stop people from having them, correct? Women everywhere will find alternate routes to having their child removed from their womb. They will go to shadey, back-alley clinics to have uncertified doctors preform one with equipment that is sub-par, potentially risking the mother's life. That will be two lives down the drain. There will be women using coathangers, possibly giving the mother an infection and again, terminating her own life. Suicides will skyrocket, again, termatiating two lives. How is banning Abortion that much better? Sure, either way something will die, but why does the mother have to kill herself as well?

As I said, there is no *right* or *wrong* answer. It all depends on the woman and what she feels is right. You, nor I or anyone else has ANY rights whatsoever to tell another woman what she can and cannot do to her body.

Actually, yes it is a parasite by a purely biological definition. "parasite: An organism that grows, feeds, and is sheltered on or in a different organism while contributing nothing to the survival of its host."
Referring to an embryo as a parasite is not meant in a derogatory manner, it's meant literally. I'd rather abortions happen than an unwanted child suffering throughout life. I'm "for abortion" because every child should be loved, wanted and properly cared for.

Those who support the abortion are not interested in delivering the baby due to non requirement because of any reason. Mainly due to cost of living and expensive services.

Those who object it are of the opinion that human should not destroy another in the bud itself...but after growing to a certain age if that wo/man selects unfair works, ofcourse s/he will be killed in by the police unceremoniously!!!

I am for abortion if the woman was raped or if the pregnancy proves to be a serious risk to her health. I oppose it in any other case because it shows peoples lack of responsibility of preventing it in the first place. Aside from the reasons above, abortion has become nothing more then a form of birth control.
