Because if a fetus is a human, then it is not the women's body but another person dependent on the mother's womb to survive and there for killing the unborn child would be murder. Basicly the question i am asking is who or what determines the personhood of an unborn child to justify abortion.

Don't let anyone fool you. The child is alive, the child has a nervous system, the child has a personality, feelings, connections to its mother that are spiritual and mental, and like anybody else it depends on someone for its care.
If we say it's merely a mass of cells, then guess what? SO ARE WE, duh! It's where we came from!
to deprive ANYONE from their life is murder, whether old, young, baby, unborn, dying, handicapped, whatever.

I've seen a few images about what takes place in an abortion and it made me so ill I thought I was going to go crazy!! People who perform abortions, in my opinion, are among the most wicked in the world. First, they are killing an innocent, dependent, perfect little being. Second, they are dessimating something very sacred: a life, a body, a creation, a person! Third, they have no remorse, they are hardened, they are cold, they are evil, they have little or no compassion at all, they are dangerous, they are Satanic.

Some babies are said to back away from the on-coming danger of the murderer before they're killed.
Some babies jerk and squirm.
If they could cry they would, I'm certain.

I am having a very hard time coming to terms with this evil world we live in and how many people actually WANT to kill their babies!!

the distinction of personhood is when the soul is attached. without a soul its not a person.

the problem is that some people (bizzarely, imo) think that the soul is present from conception on.

and of course some people don't believe in the soul at all.

the most rational balance, IMO, both between the spiritual side and the scientific side, is that the first 2 trimesters it be allowed freely, (second trimester being discouraged, but not THAT heavily) and third be extremely discouraged. last month or so....it should not be allowed at all if its not endangering the life of the mother.

(no matter what 1000% acceptable if the life of the mother is endangered by proceeding, even up to partway through labor, and aborting is the only way to save the mother)

if you can't decide to do it by 6 months in... what the hell is wrong with you? I mean how many people have gotten to even 4 months along before figuring out they are pregnant? and why would it take 2 months to decide?

until the general public accepts a standard of psychic acceptance in which you could actually have someone of the appropriate abilitys to determine the status.... (which wouldn't neccesarily metaphysically work anyway) theres not gonna be a scientific way to determine personhood.

I believe when sperm meets egg it is called a baby, a life. I do not agree with abortion as a form of birth controlI. If continueing the pregancy and it can cause death to mom, or half of thr babies chromosomes are missing than I would have to re-consider. I believe if you play you have to pay.... or wear a condom. I believe some deny that it is a human at conception so that they can have an abortion without guilt of murder..... I may be wrong, just my opinion.... I knew a 16 year old who would not take the pill cause it made her fat..but she had 2 abortions and got preggers a third time and for some reason had that one..not sure exactly why.

It is not a question of the "life" of the child. It is a question of the mother's right to her own body.

If a woman was raped, should she be forced to raise that child? Some will say, "well then she should put it up for adoption". How is that fair to the mother? What if she can not live with the thought of giving birth to a child and then giving it away? Should she be forced to raise a child she does not want? Is it fair to bring a life into this world if the person that created it doesn't want it?

It is not simply an issue of "when do we become human"? It is not simply a question of "is it murder?"
And most of the people that only see the issue through these lenses are only considering the things they want to see. The decision to make abortion legal considered all of the factors involved, and made a fair judgement based on a valid interpretation of human rights.

I am 100% against abortion, except to save the LIFE (literally) of the mother. Rare; but it happens (eptopic pregnancies).
So a fetus is a child is a baby is a human, fully with a soul.
Blessings...

Very early in a pregnancy you would call a small cluster of cells a viable human life? Even at 22 weeks, if that fetus were to born prematurely, the chances of survival are less than 1% even with the advances in medicine. So I guess there is my answer to you. At what point is that fetus a viable human life.

Abortion is not about the fetus. Abortion is about a Human's right to decide what goes on with her body.

Afterall, the fetus is entirely dependent upon the mother's body. It is similar to a parasite.

The mother has the right to choose whether or not a parasite lives off of her body.

It literally sucks the life out of the mother. It could be called a leech.

a human being has 100 billion brain cells connected in a very precise way. a fetus without brain development cannot perceive or think and therefore is not like you or me.

the question is not a logical question ... personally i believe in abortion rights, but i also think the ideal would be for everyone in the world to be responsible and smart enough not to ever have to have an abortion.

the thing is that some people want people to respect their embryos when they do not respect other people the world, life or themselves ... focusing on one thing and going crazy over it does not make sense to me.

any abortion is sad, but it is not murder, and there are lots of other worse sad things to fight against in this world.

I don't think we have the right to judge. It tells us this in the bible and if another person does something wrong in gods eyes then its his job to say so not ours.We are all people that are not perfect and so we should never judge someone else. I think its just a matter of what the person in the situation can live with to get them through life.Until each person on this earth is perfect no one should say what someone else should be doing except our heavenly father. He is and should be our judge and jury.

You know, I'd be a lot more respectful of the anti-abortion folks if you were half as interested in taking care of the kids once they're born. All I ever seem to hear is you guys carping about "welfare mothers." Looks more like you're not pro-life as much as you're pro-BIRTH. It's easier to be pro-birth, because once the kid's born you can turn and walk away, and complain about your taxes. It's what you're best at, isn't it?
