There is not a god....people say there is but can they prove it to u?!? no they cant....if someone can prove it to me without sayin i have to have faith i mite change my mind....here is a creed that i go by now ............"While I am opposed to all orthodox [religious] creeds, I have a creed myself; and my creed is this. Well done friend!! u have make the righteous creed ever of ur life and to ur doubt for God i have the answer too with a wonderful example.A teacher in school is not at all bother for his student behaviour towards him he is more happy with him if he learns the lessons of class thoroughly and his behaviour towards other is good irrespective to what students feeling is towards teacher. Same is the situation here,the fruit of beliving and praying God is being happy forever in any situation(circumstances) and other part is making other happy and u have achived both.No need to belive or pray God u r doing the same indirectly.

Your creed is very very excellent and it is a religion in itself. Moreover you can be the god, or the prophet at least, of this religion if this creed is not found in most religions. Yet, human mind is always ambicious and creative. Human mind does stop (working) thinking even during sleep. It creates ideas imahinations and morever it changes these ideas and imaginations into concrete materialistic things. And when a human dies his "mind" is not buried with him/her. It never dies. Still live with us the incarnated mind of Thomas Eddison, John Bird, graham Bell, Emanuel Kant, Martin Luther and many others.
Man has invented many things which had not existed in the past, yet they do exist now. Do we know who invented the blow "plough"? Do we know who invented the wheel? Of course we don't know. But both the wheel and the plough are still important to our lives and without their inventors we can't imagine how our lives would be like. But now we focus only on the plough and the wheel and we don't care about their inventors. If we tried to search for their inventors, would you think we are mad or trivial or something like that? If somebody told you that nobody invented the plough or the wheel, but they exist by chance, would you be tolerant with the one who tells you so?
If God does not exist, why do you ask about Him? Why do you worry yourself thinking whether He exists or not? However, suppose there is no God and your mind "imagination" has made Him, this means that He exists at least in your mind if not outside it.

No, no one can prove there is a God. Philosophers and other wise men have tried for centuries, so it won't happen here on Yahoo Answers.
God is a very real presence in my life. I pray that He will be that for you in your life someday.

P.P.S. Part of your creed, "the way to be happy is to make others so" is half of what Jesus taught, so maybe you are already halfway to belief in God. He has blessed us to be a blessing to others.

I no longer subscribe to a religion. However I do believe God exists and not one man could prove that to me. His relationship is very personal for each person. If you believe happiness is the place to be, then where did it come from?
I told God I was sick of all this religion crap. I yelled at him YOU DO IT. Meaning make me understand because I just don't anymore. I was very mad at him for awhile and just ignored him really..... well he did it. I definately believe in God, I just had to stop looking to men to explain it all to me. Men do not really know, they are good for councel but not cement answers. Besides you are unique so nobody else in this world will know God like you do, and nobody else will know you like God does. That is the beauty of a personal relationship that many fail to see.
I say don't worry about having faith, I think that's already there with your hope. Just demand that God show you and you wait until you see it. You will.

By the way......if you actually cut the dogma and rantings out of almost all religions, their basic message sounds an awful lot like your creed. Too bad most people don't ever get to the soft creamy nougat of spirituality (yes I consider that creed basic spirituality) hidden within the hard bitter shell of organized religion.

Get a god with dirt ? ha ha Get your own god too ! No the wit is lost on me because there is no god to own the dirt in the first place . the scientific explanations usually fly well over the head of such shallow thinking anyway . after all if u start with a false premise you can say anything as long as you don't question the false premise.

Every thing in the world can't be proved.
you r breathing oxygen, can you see it, smell it but you beleive that you can live only by breathing oxygen and it exists in the air.right ?
Can you show happiness, character, your brain etc..
You can say all these can be felt, okay ?
The God also can be felt, if you wish.
Can you create any thing new, or destroy completely from the earth ?
No, you cant. Then who created is the question. A supreme power and we call it God.
Try to understand nature and its supreme powers and accept god which does not have color, figure, name or any thing.

God is the only known Unknown to human kind. When people come across any other unknown like death, natural disaster, fear, sickness, helplessness they think of God. I think few readers have given a good answers to your Q. Believe in Him or not is personal agenda do not bring it in public. Do you discuss right & wrong all that you do inside your house out open in public? When you reach a dead end from your point of view you will need someone or something to guide you, power you, direct you, just think He is a Imaginary Director and directing you. Forget what rest of us are saying go by your Calling, you will meet Him one fine day in your Soul.

The God is inside you. you have to realize it. first you should have faith than only you can do something to realize him. have you tried to know him what you have done to know him. then how can i believe you that God does not exists.
it can never be proved . it can be experienced . could you experience the happiness of a student who topped the IAS examination. this feeling of happiness can be proved , can be shown to others i think not then how can someone prove the feeling of God who has seen him.
