No it would put and end to religion killing. Civilization still has problems that could cause war like Power and Greed.

Change that to "if we all agreed on having no organized religion" then I think you're onto something. Wars have not been caused by the belief in God, but the beliefs that people put around their particular Gods within their religions. It's the man-made rules and dogma and illusion of the need to compete and "win" that has caused the trouble. Not the fact that God does or does not exist.

No. There are plenty of people out there who don't believe in God, who are out there, committing the heinous crimes that created war, and destruction. There are some who believe it's 'their' God who made them do these things, in the name of "justice", "freedom", and "power".
I think the only way to stop any of these brutal acts, on our planet, is by taking matters into our own hands, individually. We can all make a difference, if we do something, each to our own, to hopefully have an impact on someone else, to do the same! It's my belief that our society is like a 'rippling wave'. If you introduce something and perform/display this to several people, one of those people will do the same, like a reflection, they are inspired by you, and then they do this in front of several friends, and one of those people are inspired, and so on. The wars and destruction that carries on in this world is a part of human nature - to destroy ourselves. We're not going to 'get it', until the world is at it's breaking point, and there's no turning back. We'd be at the mercy of Mother Earth, to shake and rumble the grounds, and flood the lands, and spew the hot lava, from her erupting fury, all this being from the pollution and devastation that man has enforced on Her soil. I don't believe that there is a God..I mean, if there WERE a God, why would such a 'loving, caring' being put such devastation in the world, and allow our children to be hurt, tortured and die, at the hands of those He created?? I'm not a religious fanatic, but I do believe there IS a Higher Power out there, somewhere, but this Being is the kind who puts these obstacles in our way, watching and waiting for us to 'learn' from these obstacles, and hopefully before it's too late. If we dont' learn from them, then I guess we just weren't 'meant to be'....

No......learning to take responsibility for ourselves would though. God is just used as an excuse to indulge in selfishness while keeping a clear conscious. "God wants us to have the land you're living on" or "God likes us better than you" are just rationalizations for increasing the advantages (natural resources and producing commodities in the cheapest way possible) that help a culture thrive and grow in the short term.

The flip side is when God is used to rally an oppressed people to fight their oppressors without fear of death.

It wouldn't. The problem is not in the concept that God exist. The problem is that we do not keep this in mind enough. Keeping Allah in mind makes me do the things He loves me to do and makes me want to make Him roud of me. There is no dispute about this. Read history and find how peaceful societies were when they were true believers (regardless what their religion was). It is using religion as a facaed to achieve a hidden agenda that make things awful.

Peace

It would not solve all of the problems, but it would definitely solve some of the most vexing ones. Imagine instant peace in the mideast, and in Iraq and Iran, women's rights in Saudi Arabia, and tens of billions of dollars now spent on religious pursuits devoted to the actual betterment of the human race.

I think it would resolve many war problems, but not all... due to greed. As for our misuse of our planet... I don't think that has anything to do with our belief in god... or very little.

Definitly not as we still act as if we own this planet and all thats on it with God. It would only get worse if we stopped believing that there was a God.

No not alone, but it would lay some ground work for a concerted effort. Nothing good happens over night but It doesn't take that much to prevent it ...

It's greed that's causing all the problems. I don't think God has anything to do with it. If we all go with the no God stuff--things will get much worse
