My wife and I have been married for 12 years now, and we have always abstained from sex during her menses. I would really like to know if this is a Biblical law because I would prefer to have relations at least every other day. It's hard to wait during her special week. Will we be sinning if we do it? Thanks for your help!

There is no Biblical law for Christians. In the New Testament, Jesus said love God and love each other. Talk with your wife about your desire for her, and discuss the situation with love and empathy for each other.

If she has concerns about pain because of cramps or worry because of possible mess or about her body image, express your love for her and reassure her that you have her best interests at heart despite your strong sexual desire and need for her.

If she is reluctant, suggest a short period of sensate focus -- holding each other, hugging, kissing, but no intercourse. As she becomes sure of you, that you won't take advantage of her, ask for more, step by step. Honor her wishes though if she asks you to stop. (No, you won't die.)

After several times doing that, If she still isn't ready to attempt intercourse and if you two need further information, go to the public library to find a book or two on other ways to satisfy one partner's desire if the other partner is unable to enjoy intercourse. These books will probably be in 612.6 or thereabouts, or check the database with keywords like sexual techniques, etc.

God's blessings to you, and may He lead you two to a happy compromise.

I know you asked about the bible, and I dont like answering if its not being asked of me, but somebody posted something about Islam's stance and I would like to further clarify it.

In Islam the women is not considered dirty or contagious as some other religions might consider. She is even discharged from here religious duties. She and her husband are allowed to have intimation but no sex i.e. kissing, hugging, and other intimate touching outside of the genital area is okay.

As for sex it is forbidden. It is not considered to be clean, healthy or mutually beneficial. It might be hard for you but think about the reward, your wife needs your support during this time. Give her support and don't make her feel that it is her fault that you are deprived of Sex. Women are not just sexual object so make sure you are not acting any different just because you are not able to cohabit during the week.

Personally speaking, I don't think it should be a problem, but 'at least every other day' might be a bit much! What if she doesn't want to? She may not like it that often, and many women don't like sex during their period. I know I don't.

It's really very simple. If I don't want it, he doesn't get it!

Try asking her how she feels, as you have not stated her opinion on the matter.

I relatively doubt which you're pregnant. In wide-spread intercourse practices a woman has a 50/50 probability of turning into pregnant and on your concern the sperm could ought to surely have touch consisting of your vaginal placing out. The sperm are unlikely to sneak by way of the textile of your pants so i do no longer think of you are able to have something to be hectic approximately. it may be like a million/a million,000,000,000,000 so which you would be pregnant.

Sorry to disappoint, but sex when a woman is menstrating is against God's Torah.

Leviticus 15
19 'When a woman has a discharge, if her discharge in her body is blood, she shall continue in her menstrual impurity for seven days; and whoever touches her shall be unclean until evening.
20 'Everything also on which she lies during her menstrual impurity shall be unclean, and everything on which she sits shall be unclean.
21 'Anyone who touches her bed shall wash his clothes and bathe in water and be unclean until evening.
22 'Whoever touches any thing on which she sits shall wash his clothes and bathe in water and be unclean until evening.
23 'Whether it be on the bed or on the thing on which she is sitting, when he touches it, he shall be unclean until evening.
24 'If a man actually lies with her so that her menstrual impurity is on him, he shall be unclean seven days, and every bed on which he lies shall be unclean.

The problem is with the blood. Blood is sacred to God because it is the medium that holds life, without blood there is no life. And blood that has been removed from a body dies and becomes a vile breeding place of bacteria and who knows what else. And the blood that is discharged from a woman is not only used and dead, but a cleaning agent to remove impurities and expired eggs from the womb.

If you do not think you are sinning (truly in your heart and not just to get your way) then it is not a sin.

I can't imagine why it would be concidered a sin, however, I've never researched it either.

However I do believe if you are innocent, you are not sinning. Meaning if you can't find any real support for it being a sin, then you're good to go!

I feel sorry for you if you go buy anything the bible says. Having sex during a womans period is not harmful, but may be a bit off-putting to some, and she may not feel like sex. The bible says that even if you lie with her you will be 'unclean' until that night. Do you feel dirty because of your wife's reproductive cycle, DO YOU? I doubt it, live and have fun man.
