Please dont respond with: go to the vet! I just want info and experienced answers plz. My friends female pitt-bull. (a sweetie!)is in heat. She has something swollen and protruding out down there so large that it looks like she has human male balls! Any idea what this is? Cant wait till he go to vet with her! I need to know now! This is her second time in heat. She will be taken to the vet on payday Monday if needed still.

it`s probably nothing to be concerned about.there Virgina's swell to make it easier for the male to make penetration.this should go down in 10 to 15 days.

She probably is just having a lot of swelling, and it probably is not a big deal unless it is really bothering her or obstructing her ability to urinate. She may also be having internal swelling of her vulva. I have seen a Springer Spaniel before that looked like she had a tennis ball shoved in there!
She also could of had a vaginal prolapse, where part of the vagina comes out. This would need to be seen by the vet NOW! I would call the vet first, and see if they can wait on the payment for a few days.

some dogs do swell very large. My one lady Cavalier King Charles Spaniel swells more desirable than the different and they are very close in length. the picture of human beings dogs are different too.

The vulva is swollen and it happens in most females that are still in their first few heat cycles. My Rottweiler has the same problem...probably will not be as large after she has a litter or gets spade.

All that "down there" swells when they are in heat- swelling of the external genitalia is perfectly normal.

this is normal for females in heat for the first time if not first time in heat this could be serous sorry i gotta say it if this is not the first time take her to the vet **sorry**

This is serious. It must be confirmed as weather she had been ****** very deep and with strong strokes by her b/f. If it is so. It might be that during ******* she had been damaged some of vaginal organ which must habe swelled and coming out of her vagina. It is thus very serious. We should take it very serious It is possible that this swelling must be controlled. As a first aid, please wash he vagina with anti septic solution. and also applly some anti swollen rubs or insertion. It will work afte two or three hours. After that consult some doctor for the medical advice and treatment with warm water.
