Why would God send people to hell if Jesus died for all of our sins. When he said "forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do" he didn't say only a few men, I'm pretty sure he meant all. What are your thoughts on this?

I believe it is said that all who do not believe appear before God on judgement day. They have their moment to either reject or accept God. God is merciful, but be aware He also will say to some "Get away from me, for I never knew you." These would be the individuals who might clamor for God's favor once they are in the hot seat, but had rejected God from their lives previously. But the real bottom line is that God is God and He will have mercy upon who He will have mercy and we cannot do enough good deeds to "earn" our place, but it is God who saves us out of grace, not works.

Kind of confusing, I know. But this is the best explanation I can give you. Take care.

Well you of course can have you thinking on the subject. But the actual teaching of the bible are simple to follow here. Jesus has indeed paid the price for all mankinds sin. But no all men have recieved that gift of salvation. In order to recieve salavtion. God the Father must give that person to Jesus. Thus it is writen all whom the Father gives to me are mine. So Jesus kingdom are subject to the will of the Father God. So not all are ment for salvaton but all can come to salvation if they will seek salvation. That is why it is writen knock, and seek and you shall find. But many are playing and not seeking. But anyone who is truely repentant and ask jesus for forgiveness shall be saved. So what is the only sin that sends you to hell, Not repenting and receiving the salvation of the Lord Jesus Christ. The Unpardenable Sin.

God doesn't send people to hell. We send ourselves there, by denying God, his son Jesus and his word. God is a gentleman he doesn't force people to believe, although he could have if he wanted to! He gave us a free will so the choice is up to us! And you are absolutely correct! Jesus did die for all sin! It is only through Jesus that we receive forgivness, Salvation, and are reunited with God. If you really want a better understanding it's best to find a local Christian church were you can get answers from someone who can really help you. Well Peace Out and God Bless!

We can only assume that Jesus was refferring to THOSE people present THAT day for THAT particular sin( crucifying the Son of God). To go beyond that is pure speculation. Also, look at the words of Jesus:

Jhn 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

The sin is paid for, forgiveness is available, but BELIEF is the instrument by which a person receives that forgiveness.

We are saved by grace, THROUGH FAITH. Eph. 2:8

God doesn't send people to hell. They make that decision on their own when they reject Jesus as their Saviour. All humans are sinful and fall short of the glory of God the bible says. Believe in Jesus with you heart and ask him to forgive you and save you, He will.

God does not send people to hell. He gives us free will to choose Jesus or reject Him from our life.God loves the world. We choose our destiny not God. Jesus came to give eternal life for all who will receive His gift. I believe He was asking forgiveness for those who did not know what God had predicted in Holy scripture, or refused to see the Lord Jesus for who He was, God's son. he wants us to please him. he laid down his life for us on the cross, which is the nicest thing he couldve done. when he said forgive "them" he was referring to the soldiers and pilate who were putting him on the cross, for they truly didnt know that they were crucifying God almighty in the flesh. the reason some people go to hell is because God doesnt want to force anybody to live a certain way, if we live for him, he wants it to be because we want to. however some people choose not to, but they are given the chance to do so, and therefore go to hell. acts 2:38 is the plan of salvation, some people say it is matthew 28:19, however jesus is saying in the NAME of the father son and the holy ghost which IS Jesus. plus, there is no where in the Bible where the word "trinity" is written. Acts 2 says they were all filled with the holy ghost when the rushing mighty wind came in, EVIDENCE by speaking in other tongues. which means that you have to speak in tongues to get the holy ghost. after that, if you will listen, God will direct you through the holyghost, him inside you, and help you live your life in a manner pleasing to him. "For all scripture is given by inspriration of God, ...." ---"Thou believest in one God, thou doest well, the devils also believe and tremble." James 2:19 this proves that there is one God. yeah I know i got off of subject, but i think the first part may have answered your question, and maybe the rest is something to think about. lol God bless!

yes my friend two posts below, but the Jesus said, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." -John 3:1-7

American Boy is right about this:

Christ's statement, "Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do," is taken out of context; it was solely in reference to the act against Him by the Romans and the jeering Jews who precipitated His mortal execution and crucifixion.

Some people choose to be satisfied with mortality and evil, and so remain so for a season or two. Jesus did not die so that mortals could live a sinful life on earth and then miraculously be granted heaven just because death caught them unaware. His death opened the door to all those who have the courage to enter, and do the work here on earth right.

The stipulation that Christ Jesus laid out is: "To enter the Kingdom of Heaven you must be 'born again'." So those who go to hell are not "born again". This means their hearts are not regenerated, but still in a degenerated state since birth and incarnation into this world from the Spirit Realm. Yes, Christ's Redemptive Deed upon the Cross of Calavary and his Resurrection established the "Door" for regeneration of the heart so that we may have Eternal Life in Heaven, rather than Eternal Damnation. But you and each individual must by your own free will decide whether you will knock on the Door of His Heart and accept Christ Jesus as your personal Savior. This is the act of "Rebirth" in Christ, i.e. becoming "born again". And only then will you go to heaven upon death.

Christ's statement, "Forgive them Lord, for they know not what they do," is taken out of context; it was solely in reference to the act against Him by the Romans and the jeering Jews who precipitated His mortal execution and crucifixion.

God loves each and everyone like a Mother loves a Child. He's reaching out to us. But when we lead a life of unrepented sin then we turn from him. Remember .... Free Will. If you dont want to be saved then God will let you be with your decision. But God weeps for every one of his children that he loses.
