oh dear! well, in response to the previous answers, he was most definitely NOT french or italian - he was spanish! and he didnt to the Sistene Chapel - that was MICHAELANGELO. oy vey.
but yes, he was one of the first "cubist" painters! (along with Braque) and was quite revolutionary at the time of his artistry.
