I don't think so. It's still in the brains, not on the amount of food you have in your system.

I read the article on yahoo about that study on people with higher IQs being more health conscious and eating less meat. I tend to agree. Maybe it's a coincidence but everyone that I know who devours meat every chance they get without even considering that this may not be a good idea is basically a simpleton in general. They seem to want meat on/in EVERYTHING! It's kind of gross. If given the option of veggie or meat lasagna they always want meat even if it looks/tastes bad. Hell I almost expect them to order pork chop ice cream. Yet my more worldly, intelligent friends tend to be either non-meat eaters or they are cautious about piling on the meat. I plead guilty to being a carnivore but I have tried to kick this bad habit many times. I've stopped eating all meat (no fish or chicken) for up to a year on two different occasions and have come close to being vegan (no kind of meat and no dairy but ice cream). Both times I felt incredible, lost a ton of weight, etc. I go back to it b/c this culture makes it so hard. You can't get anything that's not a long prep unless it's a salad. Same for restaurants. Salads seem to be all they can offer. It gets very old and the vegetarian restaurants cost a FORTUNE and seem to be only for the rich! Have you ever noticed that healthy foods cost MORE? Meat is cheap as is other junk. Why do I have to take out a loan to get a good vegetarian meal but a double cheese burger is like 99 cents? I say it's the status quo that's says feed the meat to the simple, poor peasants. Let it clog their arteries and kill them. We will eat the healthy, good, life giving foods.

Not at all. I have an I.Q. of 144 and am a big meat eater. It all depends on what you grew up with, and if you changed your lifestyle. Personally I believe vegetarians are lacking some vitamins and minerals that are only found in meats, especially fish.

Aside from animal cruelty issues, vegetarians tend to live longer healthier lives, and even when they eat the same amount of fat in their diets as a meat eater, they have 4% lower serum cholesterol. If you have a higher IQ, wouldn't you ten to do the smart thing, and isn't the smart thing to eat healthier? BTW: I am NOT a vegetarian, but I am definitely leaning in that direction.

I wouldn't argue against it, lol.

Vegetarians and vegans are aware of all the negatives of eating meat (and animal products, in vegans' case), and know that the positives of eating meat are ... well ... nonexistent. And they act on that knowledge through their diets and lifestyles. Sounds pretty smart to me! lol.

Plus I'm a vegan, so that article's helping ME out, lol.
