Flaming Dr.Pepper and Fiery Blue Mustang are two of the most common flaming drinks. In order to get it to flame up it must be 40% ethanol by volume which is 80 proof. Any alcohol that is 80 proof or higher is easily ignited.

Any spirit with a high enough alcohol content can be flambe. The trick to it is to float the higher proofed spirit on top of the drink and ignite it. The most common spirits used are: over-proofed rum (151) or cognac.

Anything at least 50% alcohol. This is the origin of "proof". In old England taxes were levied on beverages 50% alcohol or more-if it would burn it was at least 50% alcohol/100% proved.

I had one years ago called a "Hot Apple Pie". You drank it straight from the shotglass while it was still lit. You didn't get burned though as it goes out as it's quickly tipped.
I think it had apple and cinnimon schnapps (seperate bottles) and a bit of 151.

I think it has to be at least 60 proof. Although the higher the percentage of alcohol, the more burn factor. 80 Proof is the standard. Have fun!
