He needs to be evaluated by his primary doctor, who will take a quick look in the throat and probably see nothing wrong. The doctor will then refer your son to a speech pathologist for a swallowing evaluation. His dysphagia could be a sign of a neuromuscular disorder.
This needs to be done next week.

A doc consultation is recommended! Possible it is a sign of gastroenteritis! It may also lead to occasional SOB - shortness of breath! Maybe there are some unseen or undetected inherent health problems! Don't get discouraged but go for a thorough check-up!

Could be allergies or asthma. I developed asthma at age 8. We moved out of state a few years later and when I was 12, I had a bunch of X-rays and tests done and they said I'd outgrown it. However, for months I still coughed out of habit.

My friend recently had an advil pill stuck in her throat.. It stayed there and dissolved into a sore. She had to get some meds to make her throat numb to even eat... or drink. So yeah, you might wanna get him to the dr.

sounds like his gag reflex... for some reason his muscles spasm whenever he's eating. You might want to see a doc to get this checked out. It could just be a behavior problem to where he subconsciously thinks he's getting something lodged in his throat.

when the throat is scratched or irritated(stomach acids splashing up into the esophagus) it sometimes gives the feeling that something is lodged in the throat.

I'd definately take him to the doctor asap. It may be nothing but he definately needs to be seen. It might be esophageal or hiatel hernia who knows what else...

If he is constantly thirsty, but can't drink water down it could be rabies.
