I was just sitting there and then all of a sudden I have trouble saying anything; have strange feeling in pit of stomach like nausea, feel hot (but not sweating), feel like brain is disappearing, like fading away, but then I get scared and it's back.

My blood sugar was dropping at the time.

I faint very easily, and for me it's usually always the same way. I feel woozy, no nausea, just incredibly weak and shaky. Sometimes I get cold sweats, but not always. Then my ears start ringing, drowning out all noise. At the same time, my vision starts to dim, as if I'm drowning in a sea of black glitter. Then I'm gone! It usually doesn't last long, just a moment, then I'm back, but feeling weak and woozy.

When you feel faint, let someone know, so they can help you if you need it. Sit down with your head between your knees, and your arms hanging at your sides. Or if you can, lie down with your legs elevated on a pillow. This will get the blood back to your head.

You found the source of the problem. When your blood sugar drops you can faint, or pass out. It is really more serious than just fainting. The clue was the nausea. I was on some medication a couple of years ago that made me hypoglycemic, and had to carry sugar packets with me all the time. You said that you got scared and were back. That was adrenaline kicking in. You need to get this checked out. Blood sugar is not something to mess around with. Low blood sugar can usually be controlled by diet, but you need to get tested.

I don't know--the first part sounds sort of right, but the getting scared and coming back doesn't. Usually, when you're going to faint, you don't snap out of it quickly. You slowly come out of it as your blood pressure and oxygen levels straighten out. I faint all the time. (It's not fun, I'll tell you.) It usually starts out with an upset stomach. Then my head starts to feel sort of buzzy. Then I KNOW that I'd BETTER sit down. Then everything just sort of starts to go black. Sometimes, I'll pass out altogether, sometimes, I'll be nearly out, but not quite. I can sort of hear people talking to me, but I can't make out what they're saying, and I can't respond. Other people might have different sort of experiences.

People don't faint for no reason.
I sounds more like hyperglycemia, or low blood sugar.
Drink a Coke or eat a chocolate bar. If that fixes everything, then it's hyperglycemia. If it persists, you should see your MD ASAP.
