I have a 37" Phillips Magnavox that's about 8 years old, and it just blew out the other day. When it first went it smelled like something was burning. Now when I plug it in it makes a clicking sound and won't turn on. I'm going to take it to a recyling center tomorrow. Should I try a repair shop first? Will it be worth it? I don't want to spend too much to get it fixed. Please only reply if you know something about tv's.

It wouldn't be worth it to fix it you should get a LCD. I just bought one off of buy.com it was a 32" Norcent for $579 with free shipping and no tax. I bought it Monday at noon and it got to my house on Wednesday.

Do NOT under any circumstances give in to the temptation to have it repaired; or to replace it! You're better off without it.
