I've got long medium to dark brown hair, though right now, I've also got purple highlights, and I was thinking about going with black hair. My skin is fair, though it does have a bit of a tan, and I've got dark olive green eyes, with brown flecks across them. Does anyone think this would look good as black hair, or not? Thanks!

Die your hair black DEFINATELY! I used to have blonde hair and I dyed it black and I LOVE IT!! And especially with your olive eyes, it will make them POP and gorgeous! (did I spell that right?) lol

yes i think it will look good. however you will have to redo the streaks if you want them to still be there. and it will fade quicker on the purple than on the rest of your hair. I have colored my hair a lot, with a lot of different colors and my advise would be to make sure you get permanent dye and take a shower where you wash and condition your hair as normal to get all of the residue from the dye out. don't use the conditioner they give you in the box. then about 4 weeks later get some of the premixed washout in black (Clairol has a foam that cost like $4) and redo it so that the purple underneath doesn't fade out too much. The purple will not come back once it is re-dyed, it will fade out to a creamy Grey.
if you get your hair colored professionally i would still buy the premixed washout stuff or you will have to spend a lot of $$ to touch up in about 6-8 weeks.
Also, make sure you really want this because in my experience with black dyes, you can only go to about med-dark brown, no lighter for about 6 months, and once you have applied color 2-3 times (professional or at home) you have to bleach it out to get any light or warm colors to really work. they will end up working on just your roots and you will look silly.
GOOD LUCK :-)

I'm a natural blonde. Platinum blonde. I am fair skinned to the point that I have had 2nd degree sunburns and I loved my black hair. It's all about how you do your make-up. If you think you look a little gothic with black hair put on some bronzer or blush and you will look radient. Black hair is alot fun and I wish everyone could expierience it!

Just to let you know there is a new product that we patented called the Sink Sav*r. it is a protective thin sink liner that was designed to prevent Hair dye from staining your sink while coloring your hair. It is very convenient because no one likes scrubbing their sink for an hour after dying their hair with a Sink Sav*r there is no clean up, you just ball it up and throw it away leaving your sink looking just like new. It only cost about $1.50 per liner but if you would like a free sample to test it out email me at sinksaver2007@yahoo.com and I will mail you a free sample. I hope you try it because I have been dying my hair for years in my sink and the Sink Sav*r makes dying your hair so much easier.

It would probably be just fine. One way you can try it out without any permanent changes would be to try on a black wig. If you think you look good in a black wig, then go ahead and get your hair dyed black.
