when i had my wisdome teeth taken out, i had to take some vicodin, and for some reason i couldn't swollow it. Now i take a mixture of pills for various reasons, and at night its 5 of them, i swollow all of them at once. why is it that i can do it with the 5 and not with the one?

the ones i take now..they are tiny tiny pills, but they are "horse pills" either. but with all 5 together its a good amount.

i've been swollowing pills for a long time, i never had problems til these ones.

it can depend on the shape. i can take a couple of horse pills at once, but if one has a particular coating or shape, i gag on it

Swallowing is a reflex action initiated by stimulation of posterior palate and throat. Multiple pills like fluid stimulate a wider area to make the reflex action easy.

if its a big pill then maybe it went down sideways or something. or maybe you didn't take it with enough water.
