Not everyone is taught those things. Unfortunately there are a lot of parents who don't teach thier children anything.

Well, many Catholics are open-minded skeptics.

This forum entitled "Why not amputees?" takes on the essential question "Why does God hate amputees?" which, of course He does not.

(scroll to the top, you really should read at least the second one. I watched that BBC thing, it was good.)

Here is part of it:
"Here are some examples of miraculous restoration of limbs. These are very rare--similar to bilocation and raising the dead--and have only been worked by the greatest of saints.

St. John Chrysostom's,hand was lost. Through his prayer and the intercession of the blessed virgin it is restored. That miraculous hand over 1700 years later is to this day incorruptible while the rest of his body was not (his tongue may be too, I forget ). See here:"

continues...

You could just reject it out of hand.

Of course if you were open-minded and skeptical you'de accept that it -might- have happened and it -might- exist. Then, you would either accept that lack of knowledge, or you'de attempt to see it.

As I have said before, I question everything, There is no aspect of my faith that I have never questioned.

Our own free-will, one of God's greatest gifts, then when we choose to believe and have faith, it is a greater gift back to him.
