Spiritual Israel. Not the country. Even though, I have no problem with them per say.

Yes, absolutely. I think for certain historical and political reasons it is justifiable and I truly believe it is the promised land. For Christians, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre and Bethlehem are extremely important. I would really love to take a tour through Eastern Europe and then see Israel. I want to trace the original passage of the Wise Men. It isn't just for spiritual reasons, it is interesting history.

I think people misunderstand Zionism. They are offended by something that isn't offensive. Noone criticizes the Chechnyans or Southern Sudanese for wanting a homeland to escape oppression. It is supported by the Bible, history and territorial claims. The land wasn't stolen.

However, I do feel that there is a real need to look beyond military solutions and find an everlasting peace in the region. This is the responsibility of both sides. Settlements in occupied territories have prevented this and were a mistake instituted by the government who lured people in with zero-interest mortgages, loans, tax breaks and subsidies. I am not blaming them, but this was questionable government policy.

There are many good people in Israel and I support them. (And there are also many good people in Palestine, and all across the Middle East and the world, whom I support, too.)

Politically, Israel has had some questionable happenings (hasn't every country?), however I do not necessarily support any other country over them.

I'm an atheist and I support Israel's right to exist.

Not for any religious reasons, but for reasons relevant to pre-WWII European history.
