I hope that's all they play in Heaven. Not.

Some of it is great and some of it is definately not my thing. There is some amzing talent out there. Micheal W. Smith Caedman's call, Kutless, Reliant K, Five Iron Frenzy, Russ Taff, some Steve Taylor (not easy to find). Othe stuff I find a little to forced. And like most bands not even good performersalways put out good albums. Most the time its a positive message so thats a plus.

I think its practitioners are well-intentioned. Their lyrics are inspired by their faith. Many of them show musical talent and their recordings are as technically polished as commercial, secular rock.
Unfortunately, they are also about as deep. For every rock love lyric, there is a "Christian" rock praise lyric. Feelings for God, awe, love, fear, gratitude, are expressed, but no other action is required. The humility sounds smug and ingratiating. The saving activity is all past tense. The Christian call to compassion and service is absent. There is nothing to disturb or challenge the listener. Who wouldn't buy into a feel-good experience like that?
Maybe we need to start a Christian folk-rock genre...

That for Christians who talk about "Worldly Rock" and the beat of it are CRAZY...because if you take away the words of the "Christian Rock" it sounds the same. You can't call it another name and therefore because it has "Christian" in it - then it's BETTER. Why do those types of Christians fool themselves???

the word of God says we will have a weaker but wiser generation to come, any means necessary to get the young into a church to hear the word can't be all bad.the younger generation can relate to it better then the old form of music, one never knows how God will use someone to get His message across.it beats them listening to violent rap.

I'm listening to Rancid as I type this. They're not Christian 'rock'.
I wouldn't dream of listening to that crap. I've heard snippets of it on commercials, and it nearly gagged me. Who the hell would want proselytizing AND crappy, so-called music at the same time?

I don't like Christian music in "Rock" sound, I prefer it in Bluegrass and Country Western sound.

If it gets the message across of Jesus and what He did for each and every one of us, I have no problem with it. It's the message it relates and not the music itself.
