anyone who answers about no thank you should be required is spouting bs. good manners indicate that in any situation when something is given and received there should be a thank you and you're welcome. this is the etiquette section.

Do you know that it costs a business something like $6 usd to send out some silly form letter to an individual? I couldn't believe it either, but would rather them use the money for better things than thanking me. I have a feeling you may get blasted for even thinking about a thank you for your generous donation, and those people have a point. Perhaps rethink your priorities and get over the anger, you did GOOD.

If I had donated something personal to their archives I would appreciate a letter I think. I usually just mail my charity a cheque in an empty envelope because I do not require a reponse. I know they have received it when they cash the cheque.

i'd favor to make certain a charity and characteristic a fund manager to make confident that the money made earnings that ought to consistently accept for the foreseeable destiny - so i does not as we talk supply away a huge percentage, i'd have a imagine first. i'd supply away a extremely large initial sum if there replaced into an excellent reason in prompt choose, which includes the present determined Ethiopian famine - yet even that i'd favor to attend to, to make confident the hungry were given the money, extremely than those warmongers who save determining to purchase hands over there, and perpetuating wars.

yes. I think that is SUPER lame of them. even though you weren't DOING it for a thank you, it still lacks common courtesy not to thank someone for their donation. no matter how large or small. 100 bucks is a lot to me to! and I want you to know that I think what you gave and the sacrifice you made was wonderful and you should feel good about it. Go ahead and just brush off not getting a thank you, but just so you know that was INCREDIBLY tacky on the Charity's part.

No i would not be ticked. remember, giving is a wonderful thing a person can do. i never expect anything in return for giving a gift that would make it a trade not a gift.....i dont even expect to be thanked. the important thing is that you know what you did and more importantly God knows and you will recieve a much greater reward than some thank you.

It's an error. Having worked for several charities I know that t
"thank you"s are really important - not only to keep ones donors feeling good but also for tax purposes. Let the reason you gave the gift be your reward and you'll bless yourself and your charity.

I think you are selfish for expecting recognition for a charitible donation. Maybe they are under the assumption that there is no recognition needed. Maybe most folks would rather do it in private and not want the recognition. That is the whole idea. Maybe you aren't grown up enough to be making donations to charities. You should wait till you understand the true meaning of giving.
The receipt is for a tax ride off, and that is all the thanks they are going to give you.
What a jerk.

No, I never let my right hand know what my left hand is doing. All donations to charity should be anonymous! If you're wanting some kind of recognition it's not very charitable.

No....I wouldn't be offended if I gave to a charity and they didn't say 'thank you' . It was charity and if I gave I gave from the heart
and wouldn't expect anything in return.
Could you imagine the cost of postage if they did that?
The way I see it....they are trying to collect money not spend it.

I do find it rude that they didn't thank you in anyway. Although they should have, it just points out how much better you are than others. It is the thought that counts though. But you should know yourself that you did a very good deed, and we are fortunate to have people. such as yourself, in this world- who actually care! So thanks, really thank you! :)
