I was wondering about this and the only think that I can come up with is that there is no "god", persey. But the only "god" that really exists is in the mind of the faithful.
I am an Athiest, but I leave all people be, you can believe in what you want and find answers anyway you come to your conclusion.
So when someone prays for strength, "god" gives them strength, and "their prayer is answered", so in theory, "god" has answered their prayers.
The brain is a very powerful thing and it's actually their brain giving them the courage. They pray to "god" to do something that they feel they are not strong enough to do, and "god" will answer their prayer.
So "god" is kinda like Vodka. Vodka gives people the power and courage to do things that people usually wouldn't do sober. So all these Christians and others, are really drunk off of "god"ka.
Please Drink Responsibly!

I give myself strenght and courage. It's my thoughts of what would happen if I didn't step up that make me do it. F- praying! God wont pay my bills or go do my job for me..

Okay ur an atheist..so what do u live for? Do u have a reason for being here? Do u know why or how u got here, besides the comming out of ur momma thing? I mean where do u think u will go when u die? Do u think u wont die, and that ur immortal? Im sorry for all the questions I'm just curious. I have been raised in the church, but the church wont send me to heaven. I know God that is what will send me there. God does answer my prayers and I believe that he is a devine being, more than an idea. This is probably hard to understand because he is so great. I know that he exists because he has done somethings in my life that no person could ever do. I know when I say "in Jesus's name I pray" in all of my prayers that I will be blessed and things will start to happen for the better. I wish that everyone could experience that, and maybe this world would be a better place. I love God so much. I mean he has made a way out of no way for me many times. One sunday I was at church and the Lord sent a message through me to someone in the my church that was going through a tough time. The reason I know it was God is because something came over me..it was very rapid and I couldnt just stay in my seat. So i go up and went to the alter where some other people were standing to make a testimony. So I got up and said that I felt someone was going through some things and I just wanted them to know that everything was going to be okay, and right after I said that one dude got up and he was like i have been going through sometimes and that he was greatful for the message. I know ur thinking im lying or whatever, but believing God is more than going to church. Its an experience, its easy for me to believe because I was brought up believing. I say its better to believe in God and to find out there is none than to believe there is none and find out there is when u die. I hope that u will understand better. I mean no one can push u into believing HIM because you have to want to know Him. People die not believing. Its sad though.....

No I somewhat have in no way felt god. tried to locate god as a baby, no luck. In any adventure, I too sense peace, even with the reality that i'm an Atheist. once i ended believing in God completely (i replaced into indignant at God for awhile for no longer cutting-edge, which meant i replaced into an agnostic), I felt good about myself and the international more often than not. Now I purely attempt to help human beings after I can and make human beings smile. i do not assume any advantages or punishment contained in the afterlife, and so i believe no burden different to awaken on a daily basis and attempt to make this international a fairly more effective position if i visit. As for what you've self belief, even with the actual incontrovertible reality that i'm an Atheist in case you've self belief in God, and it helps make you a significantly better individual, good for you! If it makes you illiberal of others, I somewhat have project with it. i wish you're the former and in no way the latter.

A lot of times when I am discouraged or worried, I ask God to give me comfort through His word. And I will just randomly flip through the pages and then stop and read the first thing on the page. It is incredible. One time, I was feeling down from the guilt of sin and I asked for forgiveness and just randomly turned to psalms 130. If you don't have a Bible, look it up on an online Bible. It was so perfect. This has happened every time I pray for God to speak to me, I find a verse that speaks directly to my issue. Other times it is conviction for a sin, or just comfort during stressful times. That is how he gives me strength. I don't turn into the hulk or get drunk off of Him, but it makes me feel a whole lot better, knowing He is guiding me through every storm.

It's per se, not persey.
God gave me the strength when I didn't have any, couldn't find any this week. And I consider myself normally tough, strong, pragmatic, a product of German ancestors.

good question here, bet you do get alot of negative responses, though...but my personal strength and courage came from God while my husband was deployed to Iraq....God himself told me to have faith and be strong and he would bring him back.....and he did....and that was one of MANY building blocks in my wall of Faith and Strength..
