Yep, a lot of the time the rum tastes even better than the brandy :)

Yes, you can and it won't ruin the recipe one bit...I know because I had to substitute Rum for brandy in a recipe over Thanksgiving...and it turned out just fine.

absolutely..rum would be an excellent substitute.

yes, you can substiute..but it will change the taste slightly or dramatically, depending on what you are preparing...
it will not affect the integrity or texture of the dish...
