Toyotas in general are very reliable. I had an 87 Camry that was at 250,000 miles when I sold it, never had any major problems and was still running. Toyota is an excellent choice for quality and reliability, but sorry I'm not able to specifically tell you more about the Yaris.

Toyota Yaris 2007

I have had my Yaris for about 8 years with only 42,000 miles on it, I mostly just drive to and from work. I ve done all the recommended maintenance and it s been fine until today, I went to go somewhere, and it would not start at all. It wouldn t even turn over, absolutely nothing happens when I turn the key. I just had a new battery put in about a year and a half ago. This is what has happened with other cars I ve owned before, they re fine for about 5 years and then something dramatic like this happens and it s all downhill for the next few years until it gets to a point where it s cheaper to get a new car than keep throwing money into it. I had really thought Toyota would be much more reliable than this.

2007 Toyota Yaris

The answer is quite a lot.

The Yaris uses the excellent chain-driven Toyota 4 cylinder engines which are legendary for reliability.

Use synthetic motor oil and change oil and filter every 5,000 miles and you can expect 200,000 miles from this car provided you take care of the rest of the scheduled maintainance. They are solid, roomy little cars and quite fun to drive in my opinion. They have good power, excellent fuel mileage and maintenance is inexpensive and simple. Great choice for a new car and it will last you as long as you need it to as long as you are good to it.

I agree with the comments about the Corolla as well though. If you don't mind spending just a little bit more, a BASE model Corolla is a better value and more car for the money. Corolla's can get expensive quickly though if you begin adding options and packages at the dealer. You may also want to cross shop the Scion xA. It is basically the same car as the Yaris, made by Toyota and everything, but the Scion version includes more standard features and you get the benefit of Scions "pure pricing" which means, like Saturn, you go in and buy your car in 45 minutes and you don't have to haggle with the salesman and play games for 2 hours to get a good price. You pay the sticker price, end of story and for that it is an excellent value.

The comments about the Mitsubish Eclipse speak for themself I think. Check Consumers Reports and then tell me if you want to buy a used Mitsubishi of any kind. Enough said.

I recommend going for either the Yaris sedan, Scion xA or a base model Corolla.

I would give some thought to a Toyota Corolla instead of the Yaris. The Corolla has a better chassis and is more durable. The gas mileage is nearly the same for both cars. The Corolla is much safer than the Yaris. You can get both for nearly the same price. The Corolla has more features than the Yaris. The Corolla has a 1.8 l 4cyl engine vs 1.5 l 4 cyl in the Yaris. The Corolla is a proven model, hence better resale value. The Yaris is based on the Echo chassis, which is not as good as a Corolla.

I have one of the best jobs! I help people get cars, which includes giving information and advice on what works best based on their needs. I've helped many people get Corollas and they are very pleased with their choice.

You should be able to get a Corolla LE for around $15,400 plus tax and license. You get Air cond, power windows, power door locks, keyless entry, cruise control, tilt wheel, am/fm/6 disc cd changer, wood dash, 6 way adj dr seat, 15" wheels w/wheel covers, remote trunk and gas opener, automatic trans with overdrive, automatic headlights, daytime running lights, 32/38 mpg and one of the nicest driving compact cars on the road.

Good luck.

That's like asking how many licks to the canter of a tootsie roll pop!3 of couse, the owl put that to rest.Anyway I am going to say Alot!Toyota makes damn good long lasting engines and with the engine being able to work less due to electrical power assist I would have to say alot. You have to keep in mind that there are upkeeps that may be expensive such as batteries.Find out what components are going to need replaced on that car due to the fact that it is a hybrid and what is the cost of those componants and labor of such. The parts may be cheap but it may take 20 hours to put them in,kinda like giving you a vacume cleaner for free and then telling you th bags are 50 bucks a piece!Keep in mind asking a dealer theese things is not the smartest way to find the truth. I would look up toyota corporate and get all the info from them. They are under more strict legal obligation to be honest about the products they sell.Anyway I would have to say they will probably get at least as many miles as the corolla and because I am honest I will say that's just my best guess!good luck and god speed,or yaris speed anyway.

My yaris is a 2007 auto had it 7 years, not proud of this, but I've thrashed it, it's being off road, on long distances over over 1000 km at a time, back in my stupid days, I wish I looked after it better, only prob I've had is the fuel pump, I still have the car currently at 230000 km so anyone who says it's not a good car, this car goes on long distances as I live in the country and nothing is close and she goes good on fuel to

My Yaris currently has 230,000 miles. It's a manual. My boyfriend has replaced the clutch for me and brake pads. I've gotten my 15,000 out of it.
