I can't prove my nanny took my jewelry (but I know and she knows she did) she disappeared in Poland and all my rings are gone. Who would I contact besides the Consulate (both American and Polish)? Is there a way I can find out where she lives in Poland ( I have a copy of her visa) to send a letter to her family? I did not want to spend a ton of $$$ trying to find her.

That Sucks!!

But here is one truth you have to understand....Those rings are gone....you'll never catch her with them and cops can't do diddly for you....

That's why it sucks!!

NOW you can peruse all the PAWN shops in her neighborhood and you might get lucky or list a reward with a picture of your jewelry (right...I take pictures of my stuff...yep) and maybe you might retrieve it.....but don't hold your breath.

Could I ask if she was your Nanny, or your employee?

Was she was hired by you to take care of your children? Or was she hired by your children to take care of your jewels? Seriously, your question is pretty vague.

Did you sign a legal contract together, agreeing that she would commit to that until a certain mutually renewable date? Or did you agree to pay her in cash on a weekly basis?

And, when you say "this country" - could you clarify which country you mean? If you are a citizen of that country, why on earth can't you hire someone to establish who did steal your jewelry, and then notify your embassy? Surely you employed them at a fair wage and on legal terms? If so, I can't relate to your need to libel that employee in public and to her family.
Especially at such a time. For all you know, you might be mailing a Xmas card to a friend who is wearing your rings right now and is delighted to cast blame on another human being.

You need to report the incident to the police, why you haven't done that already I don't know. You can't just report random incidents to the Consolate, because they won't be able to obtain any evidence this took place unless you have reported it, and you will probably just sound like a crazy woman with an agenda.

So if you are serious, then go to your local police station today and report it.

HTH : )

Firstly, you must be sure...do take the effort to find or write her a letter regarding about your suspicion.Tell her about how you feel and what you going through..And bless and pray for her if it was her and that it would be nice if she could contact you .We must try to be understanding and ask God to give us (them too) strength to forgive.Amen!
