In the bible, it states that your body is a 'temple' of god and that any act of graffit against a temple is forbidden. I guess that graffiti would include tattoos, piercings etc.
Therefore, having a tattoo is a huge sin as it is disrespect to your body(which belongs to God) and therefore a dishonor to God.

In Romans chapter 12 Paul speaks on things untaught, essentially, if you have faith that something is permissible from God, then do so, but do so in faith and without causing others to stumble. By that do not push that view on others because they may say agree after a while but in doing so and unsure, they do so without faith and have sinned , If you question that something is sin, then it is sin for to do so is to do it without faith therein lies the sin.
Levitical Law did speak of not marking the body, this was to instruct the Hebrews that what they had observed in Egyptian culture, as for the use of body markings for status, homage to their false deities, and of what house they were ( ancestor worship) but we are not under levitical law as Christians we are under the law of grace
So why do you want a tattoo, what is the tattoo to represent, is it to be accepted by a worldly group? think on those in deciding if the tattoo is a sin, once you get it, you have it for life.

True Christians know deep down if they should get tattooed by listening to the voice inside, sent by God. My sister and I would raised the same, I have lost count of how many tats she has. She says she has no ??'s if it was a sin. It was not for her. I don't feel I should get one. If you have a ? about it I would not get one. I myself have chosen not to get any, mainly because I do know it says not to desecrate the temple of God and our bodies are His temple. also because I don't want any one thing on my body for life.

Yes, a man or woman continues to be a Christian in the event that they get a tatoo. There have been plenty of transitority civil and ceremonial legislation for Old Testament Israel that do not observe to Christians at present. The everlasting ethical legislation such because the Ten Commandments nonetheless observe nonetheless. What makes a man or woman a Christian is trusting in Jesus. A man or woman can emerge as a Christian by means of repenting in their sins and receiving Jesus as their Lord and Savior. We are stored by means of God's grace on my own, no longer by means of works. God would no longer desire us to tatoo our our bodies, but it surely does not make a man or woman no longer a Christian.

I choose not to get one because the Bible says not to, and when you see someone with a tattoo, you don't generally associate them with Christianity. It does not mean that I would call anyone a sinner who has one, it is more a personal choice.

It wouldn't be right! If God wanted us to have tats, He'd have given them to us! I say a true believer should not get one!
