I'm sending cookies specifically- I'm not sure that this info really helps at all.

Ok to make things more difficult- would I still have to put everything on if I somehow made it across into the US with the cookies and shipped them from there?

Yes you do. At the post office you also must fill out a customs paper that gets stuck by the postal worker on the package taht describes the contents and value of the object(s) in the package. Kind of takes the surprise out of the gift, but maybe you can send it to another family member up there who can take off the customs tag before the recipient sees it. That is what we do. Good luck and happy post office visits!

YOU HAVE TO FILL OUT A FORM AT THE POST OFFICE FOR CUSTOMS...IT WILL HAVE A SPACE TO PUT YOUR NAME AND ADRESS...AND THE PERSONES NAME AND ADRESS WHO YOU ARE SENDING IT TO...ALSO THE CONTENTS HAVE TO BE WRITTEN DOWN ON THE FORM..
