Specially for medical students that have to memorize a lot of information

There is no credible evidence that there is any supplement or medication that actually improves memory. (Even Aricept and similar drugs for Alzheimer's do not improve memory - not that you should take them, just making a point).

Edit: As a medical student you should probably become familiar with what is known as 'evidence-based medicine'. An opinion from an expert is on the bottom of the knowlegde totem-pole. An opinion from a website that is not objective, or from a person who believes non-objective opining, is even below that. Saying that something works does not make it work. You should remember that as a physician, objectivity is a virtue. Now go study; the abuse of residency awaits.

It can improve memory by improving circulation above the neck. The effects generally take 3-6 months of regular use and are mainly beneficial if you actually have a circulation problem that is restricting blood flow in the first place. Bottom line is that the science is there. Morons will cite negative studies that are actually based on single molecule extracts or synthetic copies of an assumed "therapeutic agent." In the end, it will work for some and not for others. That's how it is with all drugs too.

There are conflicting findings in studies as to whether ginkgo improves memory. However, it is generally accepted that it does have some cardiovascular and respiratory benefits.

it thins the blood as does vitamin E as well . the theory is the brain gets better circulation but it is not a memory drug.I spoke to a med student and it gave him a headache so forget that one.
However focus factor might help ones memory if it is deficient of neural brain food and ritalin works to increase the vital functions and hence the alertness but the only memory drug I could think of is vasopressin and that's hard to get a script for .I'm sure there are new drugs in the fight against alzheimers.

good luck

I've never heard of it. But paper and pencil with lots of notes are great tools to use. Daily be at work to transfr thoughts from short to long term memory. It's one thing to get it to short but harder to get it to long term. Pray for Gods help so you can do a good job with all of this.. Happy studying and I hope the best for you and yours.
