I have been friends with a girl I met at college for about 8 months now. I've gotten to know her and would like her to be my girlfriend. But I don't know if she wants a relationship or if she just wants to be friends. Other than just bluntly asking her, what else can I do to let her know that I would like a relationship with her? I do not want to cause harm to our friendship. For Xmas I got her a fancy silver and gold pen with her name engraved on it. I would like her to be my girlfriend, so what should I do / how do I make this known to her?

I've already gone out with her several times. We've been to various places ranging from the symphony to the shooting range. Like I said we're friends but I'd like her to be my girlfriend.

u can just be her friend and then ask her if u can make something 4 her. be realy cute and romanitc. she will like that and figure that u like her. wen the time is right it will just happen.

Well i don't know the exact details of the story however... Bluntly asking a girl out will most likely lead to a rejection. Just be casual about it. Be like "Hey, i was going to the mall today to get some new clothes and a female's perspective is always welcomed" or "I was going out to get a cup of coffee and you should come along." Of course if she hesitates just be like " You're missing out then." And because i'm lazy if you two do get out alone, tease her and be playful like reach out to touch her hand then when you do make it seem like it was her idea and bust on her. Teasing her physically (hand touching, etc), and being laid back and not all over her, making any moves will show great self-control and leave her second guessing herself which makes getting into a relationship easier in my experience. Of course if she displays excellent body language and you wanna try for a first kiss get her alone in your apartment and move in closer to her, run your hand through her hair slowly and comment on how soft it is or how lovely her lips look, then move in to kiss her but don't actually kiss her. This will surprise her greatly and make the time you actually kiss her all the better. It's all a matter of creating "attraction." ANd it wouldn't be a LastManDancing post without "I prefer strawberry icecream over vanilla/chocolate because they're so overrated."

More than likely she feels the same way you do. She wouldn't be hanging out with you if she didn't enjoy your company. When your alone and feel comfortable just tell her that you enjoy spending time with her. Wait and see what she says, read her body language. If she smiles, plays with her hair and gives a positive response, then go further and ask her if she is seeing anybody. See how she acts from there. If she says no and doesn't shy away, tell her how you feel about her and that you were afraid to tell her because you value her as your friend. Just don't lay it on too thick! You have nothing to loose. She is still going to be friends with you either way!

You sound like a very normal , sensitive young man. Since you have known her for 8 months...I think she would have shown you signs if she was not interested in you by now. You could get a very nice greeting card and write in it your feelings, sometimes it's easier to put into words in writing than speaking. Tell her over these months how you have these special feelings for her and would she be your girlfriend...and how much it would mean to you. You have nothing to lose....but all to gain....best wishes...and happy holidays..

TELL HER! Take her out for lunch, or dinner and bring it up then. Write her a note. Give her a burned CD full of songs saying 'I love you'. Be creative, do something that fits her personality. But most importantly, just TELL her! You never know until you try, she probably likes you too! "You only regret the things that you didn't do." ~Cameron Duncan~

Ok, I wouldn't go as far as asking her to be your girlfriend just yet. Just express to her that your having more than just friendship feelings towards her then see how she responds. Don't be to assertive, just lay it out and go from there. Good luck

i call this move the "trick date". ask her if she wants to hang out go get something to eat, then pay. go for a walk someplace scenic and romantic, try to hold her hand. see how she reacts. it all depends on her body language from there.
a guy once did this for me. he was lucky because i liked him and i was really flattered by the whole thing. he had it all planned out.

This is so easy ... send her flowers and a card telling her you want to meet (name of Place) for dinner. She will know this is a date!
tell her you hope she wants this date on the card!

do not waste a time. just tell her what you want as long as you like her and it is coming from your heart not just as a sort of fun.
good luck!!!
