Nope. In fact, I think it is good for both evolution and creationism to be taught in schools fairly, with no twisting of facts or clear bias towards one or the other so that students can be aware of both sides and make their own decisions on which they want to believe. The problem is that children raised in an extremist, strictly Christian home that are only taught the beliefs of the Bible and likewise children raised by Atheists who are only taught the scientific side of things sometimes aren't given the chance to hear both sides of the argument and make their own decisions. The children of these extremists often have the beliefs of their parents forced down their throats and aren't given the opportunity to exercise their free will and make a decision on their own. They're basically brainwashed from a very early age into holding someone else's beliefs. If after they are educated on both sides in their schools they still hold their parent's beliefs, then fine. At least they got to hear the other side and make an educated decision. If they find that their beliefs differ from those of their family then that's fine too. It's called learning to educate and think for one's self. You probably haven't heard of it.

What color is the sky on your planet, because it can't be Earth. If I had to choose the dumbest thing said on yahoo answers this month, your question would win. How can SCIENCE hurt a child's education, it is education.

religion is simply a way to answer questions that can't be answered. science answers questions based on observable, reproducible events. science has logically answered many more questions in the past few decades than religion has in many centuries. "why is the sky blue?" "because god made it so" uh, great answer. "why is the sky blue?" "because visible light refracting through oxygen in the atmosphere separates most visible light other than that of the blue spectrum making the sky appear blue" much better, more convincing answer. the idea of a selfish god (worship me or else) doesn't make sense and tends to go against it's own teachings.

How is Science hurting anyone. Science is important. It helps to develop critical thinking and problem solving skills.
You are hurting your children when you hide information from them and when you fail to give them a well rounded education.

Why yes. If Darwinism is taught to the exclusion of any belief in God, fine for the science class, but what about Government when we're now supposed to toss our roots out the window? No reason at all for the American Revolution, the appeal to God in the Declaration of Independence is no good. Back to British rule, yes?

Oh yes, most certainly. It is very horrible for children to learn about plants, animals, diseases, and functions of organs. Surely very detrimental to their education. GROW UP! Science is a necessity, you can teach religion at home and at church.

The Bible says, "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your MIND, and all your soul."
Peter something or other i think.
Science isn't opposed to religion, or education. Its people who put science as god, and who fail to recognize that science is imperfect and every day things are being revised and understood in new ways who are hurting kids' education.
