In the U.S., it varies by region. In general, the farther south you travel, the fewer teeth people seem to have.

Human children have 20 decidiuous teeth evenly distributed across the mouth's quadrants. The second, permanent set of teeth consists of 32 teeth. Twenty-eight of them appear between the ages of about 6 and 12 years. The third molars (the wisdom teeth) are the final teeth to erupt, usually around age 20.

I have 28 teeth including 4 wisdom teeth. I had 4 permanent teeth removed when I was 12 so I would have more room for my teeth to move when I got braces. :) You'd never know they're gone.

depends on how old they are. 1 month old babies don't have any teeth and neither do the very elderly. an adult should have about 32 teeth. unless they've been fighting and then they might be missing a few.

adults should have 32, but not everyone gets their 3rd molars (wisdom teeth) they are the most common teeth to be congenitally missing. children have 20 until they start to get their permanent.

I have four left. They're posts that hold in my dentures. I met some people in SC that seem to have twice as many as normal - like two rows of teeth. Go figure!
